Lahore, Students of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang, a sub-campus of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, were the recipients of laptops distributed under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023. The distribution ceremony was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmed.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the ceremony was a collaborative effort with the Higher Education Commission. It saw the participation of Principal CVAS Jhang Prof Dr. Muhammad Fiaz Qamar, Director Information Technology Center Muhammad Rizwan Saleem, Treasurer Muhammad Umer, and a significant number of students and faculty members.
In his address to the students, Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmed highlighted the progress of CVAS Jhang, especially in terms of student enrollment and infrastructure development. He pointed out the increasing income generation through clinical services and emphasized the need to focus more on enhancing student competencies, improving soft skills, and expanding enrollment in various programs such as DVM, Postgraduate programs, and Livestock Assistant Diploma.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged the faculty to bring in new research projects on a competitive basis. Additionally, during his visit, Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad inspected three important facilities/ongoing projects included in the Annual Development Plans: newly built residences for faculty, a girls’ hostel, and a clinical block. He expressed his appreciation for the CVAS Jhang leadership for arranging the farewell ceremony with faculty.
The event marks a significant step in supporting the educational journey of students at CVAS Jhang, providing them with essential technological resources to aid their academic pursuits.
