Karachi, The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) recently hosted the Shahjehan Syed Karim Declamation Competition (SSKDC), an event that paid tribute to the late founding president of IoBM and highlighted the importance of oratory skills in education and beyond. The competition witnessed the participation of over 50 contestants from more than 25 institutions, emphasizing the role of effective communication in today’s world.
According to Institute of Business Management, the SSKDC-23, organized by the Literary and Public Speaking Society (LPSS) at IoBM, was a platform for students to express their ideas, advocate for change, and engage with diverse audiences. The event aimed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication among participants. Esteemed President of IoBM, Talib Syed Karim, graced the event, sharing his insights and encouraging students to actively participate in similar future initiatives.
The competition featured notable personalities, including Urdu judges Sir Rizwan Zaidi and Sheikh Muhammad Zeeshan Iqbal, and English judges Ms. Noor Us Saba Tauqeer and Mr. Umer Ali Kazmi. They played a vital role in ensuring impartial judging and providing constructive feedback to the contestants. The Chief Guest, Mr. Idrees Gazi, along with Keynote Speaker Mr. Abdullah Jamal, added further distinction to the event, with Mr. Gazi presenting special gifts to winners, the organizing team, and judges.
SSKDC-23 successfully achieved its goal of providing a stage for students to showcase their oratorical skills and to form an emotional connection with their audience.
