President Asif Ali Zardari Commemorates 56th PPP Foundation Day with a Call for Progress and Justice

Islamabad, On the occasion of the 56th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), former President of Pakistan and President of the PPP Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the founding principles set by Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Zardari’s message emphasized the party’s dedication to creating a Pakistan free from class exploitation and injustice.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, President Zardari paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for democracy, highlighting their role as heroes of a democratic nation. He underscored the PPP’s unwavering commitment to the founding philosophy of providing basic necessities to every citizen, encapsulated in the slogan ‘Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan’ (Food, Clothing, and Shelter).

In his address, Zardari expressed concern over the plight of children in Pakistan, stating that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto would be heartbroken to see them seeking sustenance from garbage heaps. He envisioned a future where every child has access to education, farmers receive fair compensation for their work, and laborers attain justice. He also celebrated the restoration of the Constitution to its original form as a testament to the sacrifices made by thousands of party workers.

President Zardari highlighted the achievements of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in establishing freedom of speech in Pakistan and praised the persistent efforts of the party’s supporters, known as Jiyalas. He reiterated the PPP’s mission to build a progressive, enlightened, egalitarian, and just society, echoing the legacy of its founding leaders. Zardari concluded by endorsing Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a promising young leader, urging the nation to support him in continuing the party’s mission towards a dignified and sovereign Pakistan.
