Karachi, The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) in Karachi is set to host the 7th Annual International Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance from November 14 to 15, 2023. The conference, a significant event in the Islamic finance sector, aims to explore the intersection of sustainable development and Islamic finance.
According to The Institute of Business Management, the conference will commence with an inaugural session featuring Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, and Mr. Jameel Ahmed, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan. Mr. Talib S. Karim, President of IoBM, is scheduled to deliver the welcome address.
This year’s conference theme, “Sustainable Development and Islamic Finance: Examining the Role of Islamic Financial Institutions in Promoting Sustainable Economic Growth, Ethical Investments, and Technological Innovations,” underscores the event’s focus on aligning Islamic finance with global sustainability goals. The conference will gather international delegates, policy makers, and experts from leading financial institutions and educational bodies. Notable participants include representatives from the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Bahrain, and prominent banks such as Bank Alfalah, Faysal Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Malaysia, BankIslami Pakistan, and Meezan Bank.
