GCU Honors Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan with ‘Salam Muhafiz Pakistan’ Event

Lahore, The Government College Lahore organized a significant event titled “Salam Muhafiz Pakistan” at the Bukhari Auditorium on Tuesday, commemorating the esteemed scientist, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. The event was an initiative by the Youth Development Centre at GCU to recognize Dr. Khan’s unparalleled contributions to Pakistan’s nuclear energy program.

Dr. Dina Khan, daughter of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. She conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for the students’ zeal and expressed her hopes for them to champion education and continue her father’s vision for a thriving Pakistan. While emphasizing her father’s principles of ethics, morality, and universal respect, she conveyed the importance of imbibing these values.

Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, Vice Chancellor of GCU, lauded Dr. Khan’s unwavering dedication to the nation, underscoring the magnitude of his contributions amidst international dissent. Prof. Zaidi urged students to draw inspiration from Dr. Khan’s resolute commitment and achieve distinction in their domains.

Dr. Muhammad Aslam Malik, Chief Scientist at Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Laboratory, accentuated the paramount significance of nuclear energy for Pakistan’s sustenance, urging students to prioritize national objectives. Similarly, Ahmad Shamim from the Quality Assurance division spotlighted Dr. Khan’s transformative role in missile technology and the indigenous advancement of materials and vacuum technology.

Sheikh Tahir Anjum, Chairman of Almustafa Business Forum, and Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ahmad Bhatti from PIAS colleges also joined in extolling Dr. Khan’s unparalleled services.
