Jamshoro, 16 Oct 2023: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, in collaboration with various IEEE chapters, convened a technical seminar on October 8, 2023, at Hyderabad Tonight Restaurant. Titled “Panel Discussion on Cutting-Edge Technology and Celebration of IEEE Day 2023”, the seminar drew participation from 60 attendees, including 50 IEEE members.
The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, succeeded by Pakistan’s National Anthem. Dr. Umair Ahmed Korai, SAC Chair IEEE Karachi Section and Vice Chair IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter, inaugurated the proceedings with a speech detailing the significance of IEEE Day. An insightful panel discussion on ‘Cutting-Edge Technology’ ensued, featuring distinguished speakers from diverse technological fields.
Esteemed attendees included Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice Chancellor of MUET, and Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shanker Chowdhary, Chair IEEE Karachi Section and Advisor to MUET. Panelists comprised eminent figures from MUET and IEEE Karachi Section, delving into discussions that offered attendees invaluable perspectives and networking opportunities.
The seminar also celebrated the contributions of various individuals. Recognitions were extended to Aamir Ali, Zohaib Qadir, and Muzzamil Ahmed Qazi as exemplary ambassadors of IEEE Day 2023. Organizers Shahzad Shaikh, Qasim Raza, and Daniya Abbasi were awarded Shields of Appreciation for their notable efforts.
Further heightening the festive spirit, a cake-cutting ceremony marked the successful celebration of IEEE Day 2023. Attendees were then treated to a dinner, facilitating a sense of unity and camaraderie. The evening culminated in a group photo session, followed by an engaging networking opportunity where attendees, guests, and panelists connected.
The Celebration of IEEE Day 2023, while shedding light on advancements in technology, also provided a platform for networking and knowledge exchange among professionals. The event’s success was attributed to the financial backing of IEEE IES and IEEE ComSoc, acknowledged by panelists and organizers in their concluding remarks.
