Chitral, 11 Oct 2023:A memorable event commemorating World Teachers’ Day unfolded in the main auditorium of the University of Chitral, executed by the Youth Empowerment Club University of Chitral, in partnership with Helping Hand for Relief and Development. Through a press release by the University of Chitral, the event, organized to honour and recognize the consequential role of teachers in molding the future of the nation, comprised speeches, creative performances, and acts of gratitude, with attendees basking in a celebratory atmosphere.
Guided by moderators Jamshid Ahmad, President of YEC and 8th-semester BS English student, and Marwa Kali, a 4th-semester BS English student and YEC cabinet member, the event punctuated the impactful presence of teachers through various engaging segments. Initial phases of the event saw students express their reverence for educators via eloquent speeches and emotion-stirring poems, all themed around World Teachers’ Day, spotlighting the pivotal impact of educators in their lives.
A striking video anthem served as a visual tribute to teachers, casting a light on their societal significance, whilst a stage drama, performed by students, delineated the crucial role educators play in nation-building and fostering a prosperous society. In a gesture extending beyond mere symbolism, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Zahir Shah and District Coordinator of HHRD Shuja Ul Haq Baig distributed gifts to teachers, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to sculpting students’ futures.
Amidst a buoyant atmosphere, the attendees participated in a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the sweetness and delight that educators infuse into the lives of their students. Mr. Baig offered an enlightening orientation about HHRD’s endeavours in supporting educational and humanitarian causes, while Rizwan Ahmad, General Secretary of YEC, showcased the Youth Empowerment Club University of Chitral’s achievements, milestones, and future objectives, fostering a spirit of participation among the student body.
Concluding the event, the Vice-Chancellor conveyed his gratitude towards all participants, underscored the indispensability of teachers in carving the nation’s path forward, and motivated students to persistently progress in their educational pursuits. He appreciated YEC for their efforts and disclosed a reward of Rs.10,000 for the club, spotlighting the institution’s recent triumphs in the closing remarks.
