Bahawalpur, September 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): USAID Pakistan has awarded scholarships to five flood-affected students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. USAID has provided financial assistance to flood-affected students in Pakistan who struggle with financial barriers to help them achieve their dreams of higher education. For this purpose, an award ceremony was held at Punjab University Lahore, in which US Consul General Miss Hawakins participated, who distributed award letters to the recipients of scholarships from the USAID fund for flood-affected students.

05 scholarship awardees of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and officers of Directorate of Financial Assistance participated in the ceremony. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a partner university with USAID since 2014, USAID has supported more than 200 students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, and it has assisted female students in attaining higher education.

Now, in view of the recent catastrophic flood situation across Pakistan, USAID has announced its support for flood-affected students in Pakistan. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar has thanked USAID for helping the flood-affected students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
