IIUI President Felicitates Muslims on Commencement of Ramadan

Islamabad, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) President H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi has wished the Muslims in Pakistan and around the world a blessed and peaceful Ramadan. In a felicitation message, IIUI President urged the Muslim youth to disseminate Islam’s message of peace adding that fasting is all about patience, virtue and peace. He said the Holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity to get rid of societal issues and mal practices as it makes the minds, souls and actions as limpid as water. IIUI President hoped that Muslims across the world would be able to make Allah almighty happy and get his blessings by practicing the true spirit of the great month.

The message added that poor, ill and helpless people must not be left alone in this month of blessings and they must be given top priority. IIUI President said It’s a month to practice patience, self-control, ethical conduct, care for the poor and needy and forgiveness. He said it is a great opportunity to revitalize Emaan and spiritual cleansing. It added that Ramadan provides us a unique chance to have a look at ourselves, our routine, our objectives and our mere purpose of existence. He said that distribution of Zakat to the needy should be observed and said that the practice encourages economic equality in the society.

Meeting of BASR Held at IIUI

Islamabad, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Enterprise) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) chaired the 4th meeting of Board of Advanced Studies (BASR-04) of the year 2023 on Wednesday in the Council Hall of Administration Block, IIUI. During the meeting Dr. Shuja said that the impact of research must reflect in society while hard work in research always benefits humanity.

On this occasion the board members also shared valuable suggestions with the Vice President (R and E), IIUI. The Vice President urged the faculty members to promote a culture of research and guide students to conduct the research with a focus on societal needs. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Samina, Vice President, Female Campus, Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President (Academics), Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Shaikh, Dean FET / Secretary (BASR), Prof. Dr. Amir, Director, ORIC, Deans of the faculties and other relevant Officials of IIUI.

The Board discussed and analysed synopses’ of PhD and MS students of International Institute of Islamic Economics (IIIE), Faculty of Usuluddin, Islamic Studies, Faculty of Shariah and Law, Faculty of Arabic, Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS and Faculty of Management Sciences, FMS, , IIUI. The Board also issued instructions for students regarding research work. On this occasion Vice President, IIUI, also urged the participants to introduce the latest trends of research and explore new avenues for academic excellence.

President Asif Ali Zardari’s message on Pakistan Day

Karachi, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians on his message on Pakistan Day falling on 23 March has vowed to steer the country out of troubles. President Zardari in his message said that Pakistan is passing through very tough times at the moment but we must not give up. We will take the country out of this situation with firm resolve. The country which is based on the philosophy and ideology of the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is suffering because we deviated repeatedly from that philosophy and ideology.

Qauid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gave us a unanimous constitution of 1973 and that constitution is still the bonding force of the four units of the federation. The elected Parliament is the supreme institution of the country and all the problems stem when its supremacy is denied. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto struggled all her life but never compromised on the sovereignty of Pakistan.

President Zardari said that the government and state writ can only be restored when everyone bows down and recognize the supremacy of the elected parliament. It is due to the sacrifice of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto that democracy is stable and the national assembly is completing its tenure for the last three terms. President Zardari said that he has firm belief that the country will come out of the current difficult situation.

Chairman, Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s message on the eve of Pakistan Day

Karachi, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that today 220 million Pakistanis need to uproot the politics of hatred, lies and division for the supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament, and sustainable democratic rule. In his message issued from Media Cell Bilawal House on the eve of Pakistan Day, the PPP Chairman said that those who create division in the society through lies and hatred for the sake of petty personal interests pose similar threats to the country like extremism and terrorism. “Pakistan had appeared on the map of the world with an unprecedented democratic struggle and power of vote and its bright future lies in the observance of the Constitution and the parliamentary democratic system,” he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the services and sacrifices of the leadership and workers of his Party to make Pakistan strong and prosperous are long and unparalleled. From the unanimous Constitution, economic reforms and nuclear program by Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to the long struggle for democracy by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, restoration of the Constitution and provision of missile technology, and the 18th amendment by President Asif Ali Zardari, NFC Award, Huqooq-e-Balochistan Program, Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and record salary hike to pay tribute to the officers and men of armed forces are just a few examples, he added.

PPP Chairman pledged that his Party will continue to resist every thought and attempt, which is determined to create two Pakistan’s in one country by trampling the Constitution and law. Pakistan People’s Party decides to observe 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on April 4 at district headquarters across the country

Karachi, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan People’s Party has decided to observe 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto at district headquarters across the country with great reverence and respect on April 4. According to a press release issued from Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced that the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto will be observed each headquarter of 171 districts in the country.

The PPP district organizations will organize gatherings to pay homage to the Founder Chairman of the Party where Quran Khwanis will also be held on the occasion. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was martyred through a judicial murder on April 4, 1979 in Rawalpindi and former President Asif Ali Zardari on April 2, 2011 approached the Supreme Court through a presidential reference under Article 186 of the Constitution to seek its opinion on revisiting the Bhutto’s murder trial but the reference remains undecided for the last twelve years.

GCU Honours Iconic Singer Shafqat Amanat Ali with Lifetime Achievement Award

Lahore, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): The eminent singer, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by his alma mater, Government College University Lahore, at a grand ceremony held at the Bukhari Auditorium. The award was presented to the legendary musician by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi amidst captivating performances of his iconic songs by the university’s Nazir Ahmed Music Society. The event was attended by a large number of students and faculty members. In addition to receiving the award, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan also joined the GCU music society and enthralled the audience with scintillating renditions of some of his popular singles, including the all-time classic “Mitwa.”

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Syed Asghar Zaidi highlighted that this year, Government College University Lahore recognized the outstanding achievements and lifelong work of ten distinguished alumni from various domains through the Lifetime Achievement Awards. He said these award to alumni also inspire our younger generations

Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan shared his college memories and expressed gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Asghar Zaidi and the Nazir Ahmed Music Society for this wonderful tribute. He hoped that his struggle to achieve excellence in music wouldn’t stop after this award. He appreciated the policy of Vice Chancellor Prof. Asghar Zaidi of supporting his students. Shafqat was also a recipient of Roll of Honor in music from the Government College Lahore.
