PRCS and ICRC distributed personal hygiene packages to inmates at Karachi’s Central Jail for Women 

Karachi, January 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Red Crescent-Sindh, with the support of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), under the Restoring Family Links (RFL) program, distributed a package of personal hygiene among Afghan female and children’s inmates at the Central Prison for Women and Correctional Facilities and Youthful Offenders Industrial School Karachi.

Prisons and Correctional Facilities Kazi Nazir Ahmed and Provincial Secretary PRCS-Sindh Kanwar Waseem distributed 123 hygiene packages to women and children and 68 wrapping blankets to minors. DIG Women and Juvenile Prisons Sindh Madam Sheeba Shah and RFL Manager PRCS-Sindh Muzammil Rahim also attended the event. The hygiene package included clothes, shoes, a hygiene kit, towels, socks, sanitizer, detergent, a women’s dignity kit, milk, a feeder, books, stationery, etc.

At the distribution ceremony, IG Prisons Sindh’s Kazi Nazir Ahmed thanked PRCS and the ICRC for their support. IG further said that the growing number of prisoners of Afghan origin has also increased the need for hygiene items, and support from PRCS is helping us address this need in a timely manner.

While visiting the jail, PRCS-Sindh Provincial Secretary Kanwar Waseem appreciated the facilities provided by the authorities to the inmates. He stated that PRCS always keeps a step ahead when there is a need on humanitarian grounds.

Irfan-ul-Quran published in 11 languages of the world 

Lahore, January 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):Translation of Irfan-ul-Quran, the translation of the Holy Quran done by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has been published in 11 languages. These languages are Urdu, Arabic, English, Norwegian, Finnish (Finland), Danish, Hindi, Pashto, Sindhi, Bengali and Kashmiri, whereas the translations in the French and Gujrati (Indian) languages are under the process of publication.

FMRi Director Muhammad Farooq Rana said that Allah Almighty gave this unique honour to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri to convey the Islamic message of love, peace and interfaith harmony to the world. He said that it is our resolve and endeavour that the translations of Irfan-ul-Quran are published in all the major languages of the world and the universal message of the Divine Book reaches every nook and corner of the world.

Muhammad Farooq Rana said that Irfan-ul-Quran has the quality of being interpretative in nature. He said that people having normal understanding of the language can easily comprehend the meaning of the text and the teachings of the Holy Quran.

74% Pakistanis think that the quality of air in their area/city is good: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, January 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 74% Pakistanis think that the quality of air in their area/city is good.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “On a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 is “very bad” and 5 is “very good”, how would you rank each of the following services? – The quality of air in your area/city” 5% said it is very bad, 6% said it is bad, 16% said the air quality in their city/area school is average, 53% said that this it is good while 21% said that it is very good.
