Phd open defense at Department of Chemistry

Bahawalpur, January 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):The open defense of the research paper of the PhD scholars Bashira Bashir and Muhammad Yasin of the Institute of Chemistry Islamia University Bahawalpur will be held on January 5, 2023 at 10:30 am at the Institute of Chemistry, Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus. The above scholars completed their research papers under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Naheed Riaz, Department of Institute of Chemistry, Islamia University Bahawalpur.

Bushra Bashir’s research paper is titled “2, 5-Disubstituted-1, 3, 4-Oxadizoles: Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Evaluations” while Muhammad Yasin’s research paper is titled “N-Furfurylated 3, 5-Disubstituted Triazoles Analogues: Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Assessment” Is. Dr. Sara Mossadegh, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Women’s University, Multan and Dr. Shehla Parveen, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Government Sadiq College, Women’s University, Bahawalpur will participate as external examiners on this occasion. Admission Drive for Spring Semester 2023 at IUB

Bahawalpur, January 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Bahawalpur (PR) Islamia University Bahawalpur Spring Admission 2023 admission campaign is going on. This year, admissions are being provided in 200 BSK morning and evening programs and 148 MPhil and PhD programs in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Liaquat Pur and Ahmedpur campuses.

Under the direction of Vice-Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob, like last year, the central admission cell and liaison office organized by Directorate of Academics, Directorate of IT and Directorate of Communication and Public Relations in Abbasia Campus is welcoming the incoming students.

This year too, for the convenience of the students and parents of the remote areas of Bahawalpur Division, special admission facilitation centers have also been established in Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Liaquat Pur where information and guidance related to admissions, career counselling and online Facilities are provided for applying.

This More than 000 applications were received and after these admissions, the number of students in the university has increased to more than 65 thousand which is more than three times within three years. As a result, Jamia Islamia Bahawalpur has become a major university in Pakistan.

Islamia University of Bahawalpur is preparing all students for employment and entrepreneurship under career building program. Salamiya University of Bahawalpur is providing free admission and scholarship program to board position holders. The students who have received the most scholarships in Ehsaas Scholarship Programs in Pakistan belong to Islamia University Bahawalpur. Apart from this, there are many other scholarships that the university is providing from federal, provincial and its own sources.

Islamia University Bahawalpur is providing the best travel facility to the students and in this regard also provided the travel facility to the students of the nearby town is going Standard hostel facilities are also available for male and female students.

There is also an excellent medical center. We have more than 600 PhD qualified teachers, more than 1200 full time and more than 1600 part time teachers. Our teachers are internationally qualified and guide students in co-curricular activities and career counselling. Islamia University of Bahawalpur is undergoing large-scale development projects to increase its infrastructure. Recently, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rahman inaugurated the Computer Science Academic Block.

Three other big buildings are under construction. 25 new buses have been added to the number of buses. All arrangements have been completed for the upcoming semester. Last date for online application in BS programs is January 10. While the last date to apply for online admission in MPhil and PhD programs is 31st January

Former President Asif Ali Zardari’s message on the birth anniversary of Leader of the People Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto 

Karachi, January 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Former President and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari while congratulating the founder chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Quaid-e-Awam Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed on the birthday of his relatives and supporters around the world said that after the judicial killing 43 years ago are also ruling the hearts of the people, millions of people offer prayers in his name according to their beliefs, while the graves of the murderers of the leader of the people, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and those who participated in the conspiracy are deserted, Asif Ali. Quaid-e-Awam Bhutto Shaheed was such a leader of the world who was invincible at the negotiation table due to which the civilized sections of the world were his admirers.

The former president said that Quaid-e-Awam Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed built a new Pakistan in a short span of five years not only by erasing all traces of the destruction of the 1971 war. Asif Ali Zardari said that Quaid-e-Awam Bhutto Shaheed clashed with the powerful forces of the world for Pakistan’s nuclear capability.

He wanted to build a nuclear force where there is medical and engineering capacity on modern scientific bases, the country is self-sufficient in energy, and to develop in such a way that Pakistan is ahead of developed countries in food production, Asif Ali Zardari said that Quaid Awam Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed gave every Pakistani the right to get a passport so that they can settle all over the world and make their country famous.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari said that when Pakistan was setting the milestones of unprecedented development, the greedy group of power occupied their country for the most despicable purposes. He said that some selfish people made Pakistan a mockery for the sake of illegitimate power. Asif Ali Zardari said that today we renew our pledge that we will once again make Pakistan a dignified country for which Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed fought throughout her life.

Pakistan is the Pakistan of our leader whose survival and security was guaranteed by the great Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed by sacrificing her life. We will continue to protect the trust of Bhutto Shaheed. Ms. Benazir Bhutto was the chain of Pakistan of Quaid Awam Bhutto Shaheed, now Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the chain of his grandfather. They will not only protect Pakistan and will include Pakistan in the ranks of the developed countries of the world.

ISSI Bids Farewell to Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry

Islamabad, January 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):In a specially-hosted event, the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) bid a fond farewell to Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry upon completion of his term as the Director-General. Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry joined the ISSI in June 2018, following his retirement from the Foreign Service of Pakistan after having served as Ambassador to the United States and earlier as Foreign Secretary.

During his tenure, the Institute undertook extensive reforms, upgraded the infrastructure, and established four centers of excellence. Ambassador Chaudhry launched several new initiatives and strengthened the policy advocacy role.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Talat Shabbir, Director (Admin)/CPSC, Malik Qasim Mustafa, Director (ACDC), Ms. Amina Khan, Director (CAMEA), Dr. Arshad Ali, Director (ISC), Dr. Neelum Nigar, Director (CSP), and several other Research Fellows/Research Associates shared their rich work experiences with Ambassador Chaudhry and highlighted the progress achieved in research and dialogue under his stewardship.

Chairman ISSI’s Board of Governors Ambassador Khalid Mahmood lauded the transformative contribution of Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry in enhancing the quality of the Institute’s research activities as well as enlarging its outreach and policy input role. He also appreciated his role in the uplifting of the Institute’s premises. Ambassador Chaudhry was less of a boss and more a mentor to his ISSI colleagues, Ambassador Khalid Mahmood added.

Former Foreign Secretary and the new Director General of ISSI, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, lauded Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry’s dedicated efforts that had led to the Institute’s enhanced profile and trajectory and vowed that this work would be carried forward and further expanded through collective efforts. While wishing Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry the best in his future endeavours, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood expressed the hope that the Institute would continue to benefit from his support and wise guidance.

In his valedictory address, Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry spoke fondly about his tenure as the DG ISSI. He said hard working research faculty and administration staff were a source of strength for the Institute. He added that the Institute was set to scale new heights in both its research work and outreach efforts. Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry appreciated the dedication and efforts of his team members and thanked them for their valuable support to him in fulfilling his duties as the Director-General. The event concluded with the presentation of a special souvenir to Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry by Chairman Ambassador Khalid Mahmood.

70% parents of school going children say that the quality of tables and chairs that the kids use at their school is good: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, January 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 70% Pakistanis say that the quality of tables and chairs that the kids use at their school is good.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women who smoke from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “On a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 is “very bad” and 5 is “very good”, how would you rank each of the following services provided to your child by their school?- Quality of the chairs and tables kids use for studying” 8% said it is very bad, 7% said it is bad, 14% said the quality of chairs and tables in the school is average, 48% said that this service is good while 22% said that it is very good.

Question: “On a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 is “very bad” and 5 is “very good”, how would you rank each of the following services provided to your child by their school? – Quality of the chairs and tables kids use for studying”
