GYM Club /Directorate of Research, Innovation and Commercialization organized a seminar entitled “Wildlife significance in perspective of Hindukash Region” at the University of Chitral 

Chitral, October 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Commercialization organized a seminar entitled “Wildlife significance in perspective of Hindukash Region” on 16th September 2022 to shed light on the Wildlife Importance of the Chitral and Gilgit area.

The seminar was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Romman, Deputy Director ORIC/ Focal Person GYM Club, University of Chitral. The resource person for the seminar was Dr. Muhammad Zafar Khan, Chairman, Department of Forestry, Range and Wildlife Management, Karakoram International University, and Gilgit. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Khan started the seminar by highlighting the alarming surge in the Chitral. He furthered this by sharing the importance of Wildlife in the Hindukush Region.

Ms. Nahida Noor, (Member Oversight Committee (OC), Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, University of Chitral), Dr. Habib Ullah Nawab, (Convener Oversight Committee (OC), Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, University of Chitral), Dr. Ishfaq Hameed, (HOD, Department of Botany, University of Chitral) and Mr. Fathul Bari, (Lecturer, Department of Zoology, University of Chitral) graced the occasion. Members of the GYM Club were also present at the event.

The seminar was concluded with a healthy Question, Answer session by students and faculty members of the Department of Botany and Department of Zoology. Certificates were distributed by Dr. Muhammad Zafar to the participants. Chitrali Cap and Shield were presented to the resource person.

Chitral, October 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Commercialization organized a seminar entitled “Proper Use of Pesticides and Insecticides” on 16th September 2022. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Romman, Deputy Director ORIC/ Focal Person GYM Club, University of Chitral. The resource person for the seminar was Dr. Niaz Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Agriculture, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, and Dir Upper. Dr. Niaz Ali encompassed misuse of pesticides and insecticides in Chitral.

Tameer-e-Wattan Public Schools and Colleges, Mansehra visit to GIK Institute 

Swabi, October 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Student Affairs Department organized the visit of Tameer-e-Wattan Public Schools and Colleges Mansehra to GIK Institute. A group of about 90 students of 1st and 2nd Year Tameer-e-Wattan Public Schools and Colleges, Mansehra and staff members visited GIK Institute on Wednesday, 28th September 2022.

Student wellness Counsellor, Sumira Siddique, Student Affairs Department and Muhammad Sohail Office Assistant Student Affairs Department coordinated, received the guest, and conducted the visit to the Faculties/Departments.

A brief introduction of the GIK Institute was given in the AHA Auditorium. They visited each of the faculty and the focal person assigned in each of the faculty briefed the participants about the faculty and the facilities available to educate the students. A meeting with the Rector of GIK Institute was also arranged and shield was given to the head teacher of the Tameer-e-Wattan Public Schools and College, Mansehra.

Project Topi Youth Club Session

Swabi, October 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Project Topi under the Student Affairs Department organized a motivation speaker session of Youth Club at GIK Institute on the 6th of October 2022.

Greatly respected and renowned scholars, Mr Tuaha Ibne Jalil and Mr Muhammad Ali were invited to deliver a speaker motivational session at the Agha Hassan Abedi Auditorium. More than 600 participants including faculty, staff and students participated in the session. The purpose of the motivational speaker session was to educate the participants about the true meaning of life. The participants were also educated about the self-responsibility and how we can maximum facilitate the needy people.

LDS – English Debate Team Friendly Debate Matches

Swabi, October 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Literary and Debating Society – English Debate Team under the Student Affairs Department organized an event called “Friendly Debate Matches” on 1st October 2022 at GIK Institute. Participants from FAST Islamabad, NUST Islamabad and UET Taxila were invited for the 1-day friendly debate matches. The purpose of the friendly debate matches with other universities was to improve the debating skills, communication skills and to create a friendly relationship with other universities.

The teams were given different topics from the day-to-day life including but is not limited to Current Political Crisis in Pakistan, Devaluation of the Pakistani Currency, Is Pakistan a Land of Opportunity etc.
