IPS, PBI to raise awareness and capacity for Blockchain

Islamabad, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between IPS and Pakistan Blockchain Institute (PBI) on April 1, 2022 with an aim to foster cooperation between the two organizations to promote ICT related policy and governance, as well as to spread awareness in the country over emerging technologies, especially Blockchain.

The MoU was signed by IPS’ GM Operations Naufil Shahrukh and Founder/CEO of PBI Ahmad Manzoor, whereas the signing ceremony, which was held at the former’s premises, was also attended by Khalid Rahman, chairman IPS, Muhammad Nasrullah, IPS’ advisor on ICT, and Rizwan Saleem, a blockchain expert, alongside the IPS’ research and management team members.

IsDB Official discusses accomplishments and future plans during visit at IIUI 

Islamabad, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Mr. Muhammad Ali Yazdani, Field Representative Islamic Development Bank, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited the International Islamic University and had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Enterprise). The official from the Bank toured the research facilities at the Centre for Advanced Electronics and Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE) and was given a detailed briefing on the Islamic Development Bank’s funded research grants.

The status, progress, accomplishments and future plans of the Centre were also discussed at length. The Field Representative of the funding agency was also briefed about the continuation of the academic part of the grants and the commitment of the University to address the sustainability and continuation of the outcomes and scientific deliverables of the IsDB funded grants in CAEPE. The official was further told of the University’s commitment to furthering the endeavours to liaison with the Bank and submit new grant proposal/intervention aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan (2022-26) and IsDB’s STI policy.

Later the meeting was also joined by Engr. Ahsan Mirza, Director Business Incubation Centre and Mr. Ayaz Ali, Director Administration to discuss the proposal of Bank’s Awqaf Properties Investment Fund (APIF). An initial plan prepared by the University to bid the idea was thoroughly deliberated and finer points were discussed to further improve the plan.

APIF helps Awqaf and charitable organizations fulfil their mandate by providing required resources to develop Waqf land owned by these organizations, renovate Waqf properties, and/or purchase property to be utilized as Waqf. Mr. Yazdani affirmed his full support and cooperation in taking things forward and maintaining a meaningful liaison between the University and the Bank. The IsDB official also visited the University’s Business Incubation Centre (BIC) and interacted with the start-up companies and successful ventures.

Constitution of Pakistan is the most supreme, nobody is above the Constitution: Ch Shujat Hussain 

Lahore, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has said that the Constitution of Pakistan is the most supreme, nobody is above the Constitution, be it the parliament or any office holder or any personality in personal capacity nobody can issue any order over and above the Constitution. He said in a statement issued here today (Monday) that the Parliament cannot make any law free of the Constitution, all are subordinate to the Constitution.

President Asif Ali Zardari’s important statement about the National Security 

Islamabad, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of Pakistan and the President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari has in a statement said that Imran Khan is trying to hide behind a letter. The members of the National Security Council have said that no evidence of any conspiracy was found. Imran Khan on daily basis says that the members belonging to security institutions were satisfied with him so those security members need to clarify their position.

President Zardari said that now this issue is not of opposition or Imran Khan but of Pakistan. Hence any delay in such serious and sensitive issues could be detrimental for the country. Now, this is issue is no more only of the opposition of no-confidence but of national security.

Today the Supreme Court has the opportunity to take the decision in favour of democracy: Central Information Secretary of PPP-P and MNA Shazia Atta Marri 

Islamabad, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Central Information Secretary of PPP-P and member of the National Assembly Shazia Atta Marri has said that former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was executed on today’s date by a judicial murder and after so many years later, judiciary finally accepted that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s martyrdom was a judicial murder. Ms Marri said, today the Supreme Court has the opportunity to take decision in the favour of democracy. This she said in the commemoration of the 43rd death anniversary of former prime Minister and founder of PPP Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto hereon today.

She said that those who are celebrating after suspending the Constitution of Pakistan will be failed like they had faced failure before. Ms Marri added that Selected Imran Khan has made the country a “Banana Republic” while the state is based on the constitution of Pakistan and Imran Khan had dropped a bomb on the constitution while Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri was used as a suicide bomber. She said that selected Imran Khan had couped on the parliament by seeing his clear defeat ahead of no confidence motion.

General elections could not be held tomorrow or the day after tomorrow by violating the constitution of the country. She further said that effective measures are required to be taken to stop the violation of the Constitution. Imran Khan made people cries by skyrocketing inflation, poverty, unemployment and anti-people policies. She said that the selected Prime Minister, who has increased highest inflation and poverty in the country run away without facing no confidence motion in the National Assembly and President Arif Alvi has been deviating from the constitution which comes under category of treason.
