Career Counselling Session-P2GS 

Wah Cantt, April 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Student Affairs organized an Orientation Seminar on career counselling for the outgoing students on 06 April 2022, in collaboration with Pakistan to Germany Study (P2GS), a non-profit and self-sustaining educational guidance center that focusses on sending Pakistani students to Germany for free of cost higher education. Maj. Gen. Shaukat Iqbal (Retd) HI(M), CEO along with the P2GS Counsellors, provided guidance and assistance to final year students regarding their plans to study abroad and how to acquire foreign scholarships. More than 500 students participated in the event.

Large number of faithful offer Namaz-e-Taraweeh at Faisal Masjid 

Islamabad, April 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):A large number of faithful hailing from twin cities offering Namaz e Taraweeh on daily basis at Faisal Masjid who have been provided every possible facility in wake of special arrangements made by Faisal Masjid Islamic Centre of Dawah Academy as per directions of H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President, International Islamic University.

According to Incharge Faisal Masjid Islamic Centre, Dr Qari Zia ur Rehman, Dawah academy has made special arrangements for the faithful. He apprised that Qari Muhammad Nauman and Qari Ehsan ullah are Aima for Namaz e Taraweeh. He told that the Dawah Academy shall also hold Qiyam ul Lail in the last decade of the Holy month of Ramadan. On the directives of IIU President, Incharge Protocol and Public Relations, Nasir Farid also visited the Faisal Masjid and reviewed the arrangements for Namaz e Taraweeh.

Meanwhile, In the light of the special directions of IIU President, Dawah Academy has also finalized special arrangements for the mutakifeen as large number of faithful shall sit for Aitikaf at Faisal Masjid in the last ten days of Ramadan. H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi has desired that no stone shall be left unturned to provide best facilities to the faithful.

Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies organizes seminar

Lahore, April 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS)’s Department of Public Health in collaboration with the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad has organized a Quality Assurance and Accreditation Awareness Seminar for its BS Nutrition and Dietetics in its auditorium. The purpose of the seminar was to aware the students about the importance of quality assurance in academic disciplines and the role of NAEAC in the accreditation of concerning degree programs.

NAEAC Chairperson Prof Dr Ishtiaq A. Rajwana was the guest speaker at the seminar while ISCS Director Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, faculty Members and a large number of students attended the event. Prof Zakar in her introductory remarks explained different programs offered at the institute including the Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Professor Dr Rubeena presented an introduction to BS-Nutrition and Dietetics program, along with other programs offered at the institute. She also highlighted the significance of nutrition and dietetics for the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Dr Ishtiaq A. Rajwana gave a comprehensive presentation about the history, aims and core function of the NAEAC and explain the standards and procedures of the accreditation process. He also explained various steps for accreditation, grading criteria and the important benchmarks to earn the W category in the program evaluation. The participants of the seminar also contributed through their insightful questions that added more knowledge about the importance of quality assurance in academic excellence and future aspects of the degree accreditation process. The seminar was concluded with a note of thanks by the ISCS director.

Punjab University extends online admission date of associate degree 

Lahore, April 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Department of Examinations has issued new schedule for submission of admission forms for Associate Degree in Arts/Science/ Commerce Part-1 and Part-II and BA Hearing Impaired annual examinations 2022. All regular, late college, private, improve division, additional subjects and special categories (MBBS, BDS, Pharm-D, General Nursing, Fazil, Wafaq-ul-Madaris) candidates are informed that admission forms will only be received through online and no admission forms will be received by hand or by post. According to details, now the last date for receipt of online admission forms for said exams with single fee is April 29, 2022.

Pakistan Red Crescent distributes 3000 ‘Panda Packs’ among schoolchildren

Karachi, April 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) Sindh Branch, with its National Headquarters in Islamabad and collaboration with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), has distributed 3000 “Panda Pack” schoolbags among students of 56 government-run schools in District Tharparkar on April 12, 2022.

In a press release, the PRC-Sindh Provincial Secretary Kanwar Waseem said that around 48 percent population of Sindh lives in rural areas, where educational facilities are not up to the mark. He said the distribution of school bags among students of the Tharparkar district is a highly welcome initiative. He added that China has always been on the forefront in helping Pakistan in the time of need. Secretary Sindh Branch also thanked China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and the Red Cross Society of China.

The panda packs distribution was supervised by Muhammad Sajjad, Disaster Management Manager, PRC-Sindh, and Zulqarnain Wash Officer, PRC-NHQ. Muhammad Sajjad appreciated the cooperation of the District and Taluka Education Officers in distributing these Panda Pack school bags in Taluka Diplo, Islamkot, and Mithi in the Tharparkar District. Apart from stationery, lunch boxes, geometry boxes, and practical books for exercises have been provided in the Panda Pack to benefit children in rural areas, he added.
