IoBM hosts Career Fair 2022 

Karachi, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi organized its Career Fair 2022 on February 24, 2022. As many as seventy leading Human Resources wings, particularly talent acquisition teams represented their companies at the event. The relevant personnel of these companies interacted with IoBM’s students and alumni, held career counselling sessions, and guided students on the road map to pursue, based on their educational qualifications and skillset.

The distinguished guests present at the opening ceremony were Mr. Bashir Janmohammed, Chancellor IoBM; Mr. Arif Husain Nomani, Group General Manager HR and Administration, Ismail Industries; and Ms. Asma Shaikh, Group Chief, Human Resource Management Group, National Bank of Pakistan. IoBM’s Mr. Talib S. Karim, President; Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director; Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector along with the management also graced the occasion with their presence. The participating companies, national and international, represented Pakistan’s various sectors including education, e-commerce, digital media, advertising, retail, FMCG, banking and finance, among others.

Two-Day Training Awareness Session on Inclusive Voter Participation

Khairpur, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Two-Day Training Awareness Session on Inclusive Voter Participation was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Parliamentarian’s Commission for Human Rights, Islamabad and Office of the Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC). The inaugural session was held at Department of Public Administration. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences was the chief guest of the first session.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said the free, fair and transparent election process will install a pro-people and democratic setup of government in any country. This awareness training will create the sense of voter participation of youth in the forth coming elections. Dr. Lashari appreciated the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for organizing this awareness session on the very important theme.

He also lauded the efforts of Parliamentarian’s Commission for Human Rights, Islamabad for organizing this activity at this campus to sensitize the youth to cast their vote because this program is purely for inclusive voter education. Prof. Dr. Samina Rajpar, Director, ORIC and organizer of the session shed light on the objectives of the training workshop. She said this training aimed at to educate the youth on voter importance, to train the participants on voting process and to provide the information about the constitutional and institutional responsibilities.

Mr. Muhammad Mueez Shamsi, Advocate Sukkur, Advocate Ratan Kumar, Mr. Waseem Ahmed Shaikh, District Focal Person Parliamentarian’s Commission for Human Rights, Sukkur Chapter and Mr. Ramal Farooque trained the students about the polling process, election process. They also apprised the students about importance of voting rights and introduction of Election Commission of Pakistan.

The concluding session was held in the Institute of Computer Science. Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Director, Institute of Computer Science was the chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh said that elections are the part of the democratic process. It is need of the time to educate the youth as well as masses to cast their vote to strengthen the democratic process. He appreciated the tangible efforts of Director ORIC Dr. Samina Rajpar for conduct of two-day session on inclusive voter education.

Mr. Waseem Ahmed Shaikh said that the purpose of the two-day training session on inclusive voter education was to brief the students about the definition of election, importance of voting, it process and right of the voter, voting registration process, types of elections. He appreciated the cooperation extended by the administration of university for holding the sessions. Mr. Ali Raza Lashari was the facilitator of the two-day training sessions. A large number of teachers and students attended the sessions.

GCU holds Healthy Food Festival 

Lahore, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):A “Healthy Food Festival” was held here at the Government College University Lahore on Thursday under the auspices of its Disease Awareness and Prevention Society (GCU-DAPS) and Rainbow Obesity, Eating Disorder Centre. The theme of this festival was to highlight the importance of healthy lifestyle. A free medical checkup for students and staff members by dietician and psychologist have also been arranged along with healthy food stalls. This festival was also comprised of sports activities for both boys and girls.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi also visited the festival held at the university’s Oval Ground and appreciated the executive-committee of GCU-DAPS, saying that in planning such festival was effective way to help the students create a healthy relationship with food. Clinical Psychologist Amna Iftikhar said told students that they should abstain from eating junk foods from markets. She gave students tips about improving their health, diet method and immunity.

IoBM and Shell Tameer come together to promote entrepreneurship 

Karachi, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):IoBM and Shell Tameer signed an Agreement on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Under the agreement, Shell Tameer will provide mentorship to start-ups incubated at IoBM’s Shahjehan S. Karim Incubation Center (SSK-IC), facilitate consultancy and training workshops for start-ups, and promote grant challenges and other activities across their social and digital platforms. IoBM will partner with Shell Tameer to conduct on-campus events and share incubating and funding opportunities for Shell Tameer alumni and startups. The signatories were Mr. Talib S. Karim, President IoBM, and Mr. Habib Haider, Head of Corporate Relations, Shell Pakistan.

During the event, Mr. Habib shared an overview of Shell Tameer and its contribution over the years to the local economy by the number of businesses it’s supported and youth trained in enterprise development. While addressing the occasion, Mr. Talib Karim shared information about the various initiatives at IoBM including the Shahjehan S. Karim Incubation Center and its vision to empower students to become job creators. Dr. Imran Batada, CTO and Head of CIT, IoBM informed about IoBM’s collaboration in Kamyab Jawan Projects and with the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research and Development Board (BBSHRRDB).

Sir Syed University organized Job Fair 2022

Karachi, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 5th edition of Job Fair 2022 was organized by the Centre for Guidance Career Planning and Placement, of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) at the campus in which more than 140 renowned companies of the town participated and set up their stalls to facilitate students in terms of sharing information and preparing them for availing the job opportunities. A large number of students, faculty members including Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean Faculty of Computing and Applied Science, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Computer and Electrical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Convenor Guidance Centre, Mr. Siraj Khilji, Chairperson CED, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, members of KATI and others attended the event.

Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Muhammad Salman Aslam, President Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) along with Vice-Chancellor SSUET, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar SSUET, Syed Sarfraz Ali inaugurated the Job Fair 2022 by cutting the ribbon. Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Chief Guest Muhammad Salman Aslam, President KATI said that the Careers Fairs are useful for a range of students and give large companies much-needed time to present themselves and recruit new people. Employers meet, inform and interview hundreds of potential applicants, while job seekers get the chance to display their skills and make important connections with potential employers, mentors, and peers.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Mr. Jawaid Anwar said, “The purpose of holding this Job Fair was to facilitate students to meet potential employers in an informal setting. The event allows job seekers to learn more about potential employers and the opportunities available. The focus was on sharing information between organizations and job seekers. It is a way to explore career opportunities within a variety of companies at one location.”

Addressing the Open House, Vice-Chancellor SSUET, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that Job Fair is like speed dating for recruiting. At a set time and place, companies and job seekers meet and try to find out if they’ll match. Job Fair can be considered as a form of public relations for a company. Now students have a wide range of options. Choice of a profession is very important in the career. He advised students to make the best use of this opportunity and convince the industries with their skills. Director, Guidance Centre, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed presented the vote of thanks.

IoBM earns 2nd place at the 70th Pakistan Annual Flower Show 

Karachi, February 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):IoBM secured the second prize at the 70th Pakistan Annual Flower Show organized by the Horticultural Society of Pakistan. It was held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the A.K Khan Park Seaview, Clifton, Karachi. IoBM earned this prize in the Educational Institute Gardens category. The prize was received on behalf of IoBM by Mr. Adnan Faisal, Manager Maintenance.
