University of Turbat inks MoU with RCCI for linkages between industry and Academia 

Turbat, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and the University of Turbat (UoT) in order to create linkages between industry and Academia thus resulting in economic growth and stability in the country. RCCI president Ch. Nadeem Abdul Rauf and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad from the University of Turbat signed and exchanged the MoU document at a ceremony held in Rawalpindi on 24th December 2021.

Under the document, both the parties agreed to promote and carry out collaborative activities in furtherance of the common interest of the organizations and to encourage its members to take part in conferences, seminars, workshops, job fairs, joint research, and other professional activities organized by the institutions. According to the agreement, the UoT will take measures in collaboration with RCCI for the promotion of entrepreneurship culture in the region. Besides providing opportunities for University’s students to attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as observers for learning purposes, the RCCI will also provide internships to the University’s students in order to give them practical exposure to theoretical knowledge.

Speaking on the occasion, VC UoT Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad said, “The University of Turbat has always envisioned providing ample opportunities to its students to learn practical knowledge for becoming job providers instead of job seekers.” He said that under this MoU, the University’s students will be engaged in event management activities in the big events of RCCI so that they could get useful learning experiences.

AIT 1st Graduation Ceremony held with traditional zeal; More than 200 graduates received degrees

Karachi, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):The 1st Graduation Ceremony was held by Aligarh University of Technology (AIT), with traditional zeal that was attended by a large number of educationists, scholars, dignitaries, aligarians, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean FoECE Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Dean FoCAS, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman and others. Former Governor Sindh and Federal Interior Minister, Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider was the chief guest.

On this memorable occasion around more than 640 diplomas were given to the pass-outs of DAE Programme in 6 different technologies. Position holders were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals for securing highest marks in the respective technologies. Total 18 students received the medals in 6 different technologies.

Addressing the 1st Graduation Ceremony of AIT, Ex-Governor Sindh, Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider said that the Convocation is culmination of your tireless efforts with feeling of accomplishment in life. It is glorious occasion to cherish. It is a moment to rejoice an important landmark that gives recognition to the efforts, support and sacrifices of your parents, guardians, whether in the form of devotion of time and energy for your studies or financing studies or accumulation of responsibilities in your journey in pursuit of education.

Addressing the ceremony, Chancellor SSUET and Chairman AIT Governing Body, Jawaid Anwar said, “Technology playing a dominant role in development and growth of the country. It is observed that the countries devoid of natural resources like Korea, Singapore, Taiwan are ranked among the top prosperous countries because of technological advancement. Today the demand for technologists have become very high in Japan, Germany and other countries.”

He advised to the graduates to connect themselves to the self-entrepreneurship and modern technology that would help them in making components. Sir Syed University always helps students to associate them with the organization who may help in manufacturing of their products/projects and take them to local and global market.

Presenting vote of thanks, Convenor AIT, Engr. Muhammad Arshad Khan said that technical and vocational education and training methodologies focus on inculcating work crafting skills among students that helps them become more employable in the future. AIT promises to produce best technicians of its own. The institute introduces new courses of technology to keep pace with the fast-changing technologies.

Principal AIT Fareedonfer, said that the AIT started with 86 students and initially it has only 2 technologies that has now risen to 8 technologies. BOG Member Aslam Shah and Feroz Zaheer also spoke on the occasion. Students were also honoured with gold, silver and bronze medals for their outstanding achievements in their academic career. Ansar Butt (Electronics Technology), Ali Hassan (Information Technology), Muhammad Aqdas (Electrical Technology), Syeda Fatima Zehra (Biomedical Technology), Ali Khan (Mechanical Technology), Faiz ul Haq (Civil Technology) received gold medals for securing highest marks in SBTE exams.

The students who received silver medals included Muhammad Anus Khan (Electronics Technology), Ayesha Moin (Information Technology), Rana Arbab (Electrical Technology), Syeda Zainab Sadiq Rizvi (Biomedical Technology), Muhmmad Huzaifa (Mechanical Technology) and Huzaifa Adeeb (Civil Technology).

The recipients of bronze medals were Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifa (Electronics Technology), Zawar Hussain Rizvi (Information Technology), Qazi Ashraf (Electrical Technology), Muhammad Adeel (Biomedical Technology), Irfan bin Shareef (Mechanical Technology) and Usama bin Saifullah (Civil Technology).

Three gold medals were also given by AIT to M. Saqib Khan, Warda Khan and M. Shaheer Khan who had secured first position in whole Sind in SBTE exams. Shields were also given to the sons of S. M. Munif, (a potent donner) and Dr Mehmood Khan Pathan (former Principal AIT).

Telenor comes on board with NUST for research and innovation 

Islamabad, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):NUST and Telenor Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on December 27th, 2021, to promote research and innovation in the areas of Analytics, AI, and Data Science. The MoA is of great significance as it will provide a platform for joint research and development in the aforementioned areas.

This also aims at sharing the scientific and technical knowledge while extending the training opportunities to the staff/faculty to enhance their skillset and expertise. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan, SI (M) Principal SEECS NUST, said that this partnership will pave the way for future collaboration in the areas of mutual interest.

Mr. Farhan Haider, Vice President Service Delivery, Telenor Pakistan, highlighted the key elements of the agreement and commended NUST for its achievements and initiatives. Other senior officials from Corporate Advisory Council (CAC), Telenor Pakistan and NUST SEECS witnessed the MoU signing ceremony.

Capital University Holds a Seminar on “Role of the Telecommunication Industry in the Economic Development of Pakistan” 

Islamabad, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):The seminar was organized by the students of 2nd semester, department of Psychology at the Capital University of Science and Technology. The topic of seminar was “Role of the Telecommunication Industry in the Economic Development of Pakistan”. It was conducted by Mr. Hassan Ali who is a Relationship Manager at Ufone Telecom Limited. The purpose of the seminar was to educate and inform the students about how telecom is helping to boost our economy, telecom trends in Pakistan, telecom revenue, foreign direct investment in telecom sector, investment and GST contributions, and telecom’s industry status.

The Telecommunication sector in Pakistan has been improving very fast and comparing its telecom services with global advancements. Five major national and multinational operators are providing GSM/Cellular services in all over the Pakistan. These operators are named as: Pakistan Mobile Company Limited, China Mobile Pakistan, Telenor Pakistan Limited, and Ufone and PTCL.

Mr. Hassan gave the students important insights into the telecom industry. Students seemed very keen to learn and asked many questions. It was a very informative seminar in which each element of the telecom enterprise of Pakistan was mentioned and questions raised by students were answered.
