The day is not far when we will save Pakistan from this government: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Sukkur, August 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the PTI government should only oppress the people as much as they can bear themselves because the PPP will be forming the government soon and the Jiyalas will fight fire with fire. He added that the PTI government targets PPP since ours is the only party serious about competing with them.

Addressing a press conference at the residence of Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, a captive MNA of the party in Sukkur, the PPP Chairman said that wherever he had gone, people had gathered on to the streets to greet him. “The people have expectations from PPP because we are the only ones who bring relief to the poor,” stated Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “But Imran Khan has damaged the common man and given relief only to the rich.” He said that while Imran Khan had promised 10 million jobs, even those employed during the three years of PTI now have their jobs snatched away. “This is the history of Pakistan Peoples Party, that whenever it forms the government, people get jobs,” he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also said that there was talk of building 5 million houses. Instead, the poor were displaced across the country. Such anti-people sentiment has never been witnessed in the history of Pakistan. Even inflation, poverty, and unemployment reached historic levels. “In such a situation when the labourer is hungry, the farmer is not getting the price of his crop, the labourer is not getting the reward of labour, the youth is not getting employment, Khan Sahib is celebrating his three years of destruction in Islamabad,” remarked Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He further said that Imran Khan’s government is undemocratic, and he is not the people’s representative. “Imran Khan did not win the election,” said Chairman PPP, “If he had won fairly, he would have worked towards respecting and serving the people.” He added that the selected PM is someone else’s representative, and he is only serving them. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also said that PPP is the only party that the government targets because PTI thinks only PPP can compete with them.

Chairman PPP further said, “PTI ministers admit that the biggest obstacle in front of them is the government of Sindh and Murad Ali Shah. This is why when they put someone in jail, it has to be the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party in jail.” He added, “If you want to keep someone in jail, it should be Khurshid Shah. Keep him in jail and humiliate him.” Chairman PPP also said that PTI stoops to these measures because they know that if there is anyone serious about fighting the undemocratic forces and the incompetent and failed government, it is the Pakistan People’s Party. The PPP Chairman said that his party and workers stand with the people and raise their voices wherever there is oppression. “The day is not far when we will save this country and nation from this government,” he concluded.

Responding to a question from a journalist about the local government system in Sindh, the PPP Chairman said that there was a misconception that the Sindh government did not want a local government system. The Sindh is the only province where power has been transferred to the lower levels, and local governments have completed their term. He said that those who became champions of the local government system in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa abolished their local government before the expiry of their term. At that time the government of Buzdar and Khan Sahib was in contempt of court for not restoring the local government system of Punjab.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that a fake census was conducted to snatch the rights of the province and its people, which is not recognized by the Pakistan Peoples Party. At the same time, the MQM has acknowledged the results of the fake census. “I am ready for the local body elections,” he said. “The Sindh government has written twice to the parliament that it is our legal and constitutional prerogative that if we do not abide by their decision, any province can write to the parliament. A joint session should be called, but the PPP’s demand has not been met to date.” He added that the local government elections would be held and won by PPP as soon as the issue is resolved.

“If this selected government is imposed on us today, it is because of some of our people. This attitude is a sign of lack of seriousness, and we tell our friends to resign if we are not together,” he said. “And if they are not resigning, then join us in this work. We cannot only give the government a hard time but also remove it. But then we show you this way, you also step back from the long march. If we start talking about resignation, then it does not harm the government but benefits it,” he explained.

Meanwhile, on his arrival in Sukkur, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was given a warm welcome and addressed the workers who arrived for his reception. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that whenever the PPP goes out to restore democracy, the PPP workers and the people of Sukkur play a leading role – whether it is the MRD movement, or the ARD, the struggle against General Zia and General Musharraf, or the struggle against the selected government.

He said that PPP is the only party fighting against the government. “Whenever the government has brought trouble in the lives of the people, the Jiyalas fight against puppets from Sukkur to Kashmir,” stated Chairman PPP. He also said the everyone else has fled, but the PPP stands on its soil to confront these undemocratic forces and drive them out. He said that this is the first and last government of PTI, so let them do as much oppression as they can bear. “Jiyalas are coming, and our government is going to be formed, then we will answer bricks with stones,” he responded.

He further said that the government knows that it is not threatened by Patwaris and Maulanas, but by Jiyalas. They know that PPP cadres have always fought against dictators. If Sukkur ka Shah is in jail then his women are also being pushed in cases, but we want to remind them that if the women of our house will be forced into cases, then there are women in your houses too. The only difference is that PPP respects women, and we would never attack them like this.
