Workshop on Bio-pesticides in Vector Control Commences at UVAS

LAHORE: A two-day workshop focusing on "Bio-pesticides in Vector Control" commenced at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore. Hosted by the Department of Parasitology in collaboration with the Pakistan Society of Parasitology and the Pakistan Science Foundation, the event aims to explore sustainable methods of vector control at the UVAS City Campus.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the inaugural session was presided over by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani. The session was attended by Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Prof. Dr. Mian Abdul Hafeez, Dr. Muhammad Oneeb, and several participants. Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani acknowledged the significance of the workshop in promoting bio-pesticides and innovative biological approaches for public and animal health. He stressed the importance of research-driven, environmentally friendly solutions for effective vector and tick management.

Throughout the workshop, discussions will cover various aspects related to vector-borne diseases, including bio-pesticides, molecular and nano approaches, as well as their application and evaluation.
