Punjab University and Sichuan Vocational College Sign Letter of Intent for Academic Collaboration

LAHORE: Punjab University has entered into an agreement with Sichuan Vocational College of Cultural Industries (SVCCI), China, to enhance academic and research cooperation. The agreement, formalized through a Letter of Intent signed on Wednesday, aims to promote international educational collaboration between the institutions.

According to University of the Punjab, the signing ceremony took place at Punjab University and included representatives such as Mr. Chen Jinggui, Vice President of SVCCI, Prof Dr. Mehboob Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Prof Dr. Samina Nasim, Principal CAD, and Prof Dr. Yaamina Salman, Director of External Linkages. The partnership is designed to foster mutual friendship and strengthen academic ties based on reciprocity, equality, and mutual respect.

The collaboration will explore avenues such as faculty and researcher exchanges, student mobility programs, seminars, workshops, and academic conferences. Additionally, the two institutions plan to establish joint training bases and promote scientific research cooperation. The LoI underscores PU's commitment to expanding global academic partnerships, creating international opportunities for students and faculty, and promoting educational and research excellence.

Representatives from both sides highlighted the importance of international collaborations for knowledge exchange, academic development, and strengthening educational ties between Pakistan and China. They expressed optimism that the partnership will contribute significantly to academic innovation and cultural understanding between the two institutions.
