Pakistan Recognized as Global Power by Punjab University Leader

LAHORE: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali announced that Pakistan has emerged as a new global power, attributing this status to the Maarka-e-Haq, Islamabad talks, and the Makkah Defence Accord. He stated that Pakistan has also become an influential peacemaker on the global stage, contributing to the prevention of a major war. Prof. Dr. Ali made these remarks during a flag-hoisting ceremony at Punjab University in celebration of Pakistan's 79th Independence Day.

According to University of the Punjab, the ceremony saw participation from PU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem, Registrar Dr. Ahmad Islam, faculty members, administrative officers, employees, and their families. Prof. Dr. Ali emphasized the significance of Independence Day as a moment to reaffirm commitments to the nation. He highlighted the pride of Pakistanis in their national identity and remarked on the historic significance of the current period. The Battle of Truth in May 2025, he noted, enhanced Pakistan's stature internationally. The Makkah Agreement was described as a significant achievement for Muslim countries and Pakistan, with the nation moving towards progress due to the efforts of its leadership.

Prof. Dr. Ali also paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, acknowledging the sacrifices of martyrs, veterans, and leaders. He reiterated Punjab University's dedication to contributing to the country's development and progress. The ceremony concluded with Prof. Dr. Ali planting a sapling to inaugurate a plantation campaign and offering a special prayer for the security and prosperity of Pakistan.
