MANSEHRA: Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), visited Hazara University where he and university officials agreed to pursue a cooperation agreement. The proposed initiatives include faculty exchange programs and Arabic language education, marking a potential enhancement of academic collaboration between the two institutions.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Alahmed, invited by Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, held discussions with Hazara University's Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan Marwat and other university officials. During his visit, Prof. Dr. Alahmed emphasized the deep-rooted relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, underscoring the role of universities in nurturing future leaders. He expressed optimism about the planned academic cooperation, which aims to fortify higher education in Pakistan through joint research and shared best practices.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, addressing the gathering, encouraged further exploration of academic and research collaborations between IIUI and Hazara University. He highlighted IIUI's contributions in fields such as Islamic studies and law, and noted the international impact of its graduates. The minister also acknowledged Saudi Arabia's role in constructing the King Abdul Aziz Mosque on Hazara University's campus, describing it as a testament to the enduring brotherly relationship between the two countries.

During the visit, Dr. Alahmed and Dr. Marwat agreed on advancing a memorandum of understanding to facilitate faculty exchange and promote Arabic language education. Dr. Marwat, in his welcoming remarks, highlighted Hazara University's status and its plans to expand Arabic language instruction. The event concluded with a tour of the King Abdul Aziz Mosque and a luncheon hosted by Sardar Muhammad Yousaf for the visiting delegation and university officials.
