Sanghar: The voter registration rate in Sanghar District has been reported at 53% of its estimated 2025 population, which is slightly below the national average of 54%. According to the Free and Fair Election Network, these statistics are based on district-wise electoral roll data released by the Election Commission of Pakistan and cross-referenced with population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census.
Sanghar's estimated 2025 population, calculated by applying a 2.01% annual growth rate to its 2023 census base of 2,308,465, stands at 2,402,198. The district has about 1.3 million registered voters, comprising 684,982 males and 599,458 females. While 56% of the male population is registered to vote, the figure for females is 51%. Sanghar ranks 36th in population size among Pakistan's districts and is represented by two Members of the National Assembly. By voter registration rate, it ranks 60th nationally and 7th within the province of Sindh.
The discrepancy between Sanghar's voter registration rate and the national average is attributed to census enumeration patterns typical in rural Sindh. In-migrants from nearby villages and districts are counted in Sanghar during censuses but often remain registered as voters in their places of origin. This results in an inflated population figure without a corresponding increase in the local voter roll, particularly in areas experiencing continued internal migration.
Female voters make up 46.7% of the registered electorate in Sanghar, indicating a gender gap of 6.7%. The report highlights the need for targeted outreach to register more women before the next general elections.
