UVAS Vice-Chancellor Initiates Tree Plantation Drive for a Greener Campus


Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore has launched a tree plantation campaign as part of its efforts to enhance greenery and address environmental issues within its campuses. The drive was kick-started with the planting of a sapling by the university’s Vice-Chancellor and other esteemed faculty members.



According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus, along with key members of the faculty, inaugurated the campaign with a ceremonial planting in front of the Admin Block Lawn. The initiative witnessed participation from the Principal Officer Students Affairs, the Director of the Institute of Ophthalmology, and other administrative officers, signifying the collective commitment of UVAS staff towards environmental stewardship.



In his remarks, VC Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus emphasized the campaign’s aim to mitigate environmental issues through the plantation of a significant number of saplings across all UVAS campuses. The action reflects a broader awareness and response to the environmental challenges faced by the region and is aligned with global efforts to enhance sustainability in educational institutions.
