UVAS Vice-Chancellor Inaugurates Advanced Pet Centre and Smart Classroom at Ravi CampusIslamia University Bahawalpur Distributes Scholarships Worth 7.3 Million Rupees to Deserving Students

Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore took a significant step forward in enhancing its educational and veterinary services with the inauguration of a newly renovated Pet Centre and a state-of-the-art Smart Classroom at its Ravi Campus Pattoki. The facilities are expected to improve the quality of veterinary care and modernize the educational experience for students.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad led the inauguration ceremonies. The Pet Centre, which now includes a reception, an examination room, a treatment and operating room for pets such as cats, dogs, and birds, as well as a lecture room for students and an office for staff, represents a substantial enhancement in veterinary care facilities at the university. Emeritus Prof Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, along with other faculty members, veterinary professionals, pet practitioners, and students, were present at the event.

Following the opening of the Pet Centre, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad, accompanied by Mr. Rizwan Saleem, Director of the Information Technology Center, and other dignitaries, inaugurated the Smart Classroom at the Ravi Campus. This modern facility is equipped with 30 computers and primary screens, reflecting the combined commitment of the Higher Education Commission and UVAS to advancing education. The Smart Classroom is designed to bridge communication gaps and foster collaboration between UVAS and other prominent universities globally. It serves as a technological hub aimed at revolutionizing educational connectivity through advanced digital tools and interactive technologies. This initiative is a significant step towards learning about E-Rozgar, Freelancing, and other contemporary subjects.

Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad emphasized UVAS’s progress in providing top-notch treatment and disease diagnosis services to pet owners and the enhancement of classrooms and labs with the latest facilities for practical education. He acknowledged the efforts of the Information Technology Center and expressed gratitude to the HEC for its financial assistance in completing this project, marking a significant stride in the university’s journey towards educational excellence and veterinary service improvement.

Bahawalpur, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Bahawalnagar Campus, has taken a significant step in supporting its students by distributing scholarships worth 7.3 million rupees. These scholarships were awarded to deserving students after a thorough selection process.



According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, the Director of the Bahawalnagar Campus, Dr. Rafaqat Ali, along with Deputy Director of Student Affairs Aurangzeb Watto, Dr. Misbah Akhtar, and Umeer Mukhtar from the Directorate of Financial Institutions, oversaw the selection process. The committee members conducted interviews with approximately 1300 students over five days to determine the most deserving candidates for these scholarships.



Director Dr. Rafaqat Ali expressed gratitude towards the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar for his initiative in providing substantial financial aid to the students. He emphasized that these scholarships are crucial for enhancing educational activities and would significantly benefit the students.



Moreover, the Director highlighted the need for more scholarships, particularly for students at sub-campuses. He praised the talent and abilities of the students at the Bahawalnagar campus, advocating for more support to encourage their academic pursuits.
