UVAS Hosts Awareness Walk for World Antimicrobial Resistance Week

Lahore, The Institute of Microbiology (IOM) at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore organized an awareness walk to mark “World Antimicrobial Resistance Week” with the theme “Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together.” The event, aimed at raising public awareness about antimicrobial resistance, took place at the City Campus.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the walk was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad and was joined by Chairman of the Department of Parasitology Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Director of IOM Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmed Anjum, along with numerous students. Starting from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, the walk proceeded around the City Campus and concluded in front of the Quality Operation Lab.

The event’s primary goal was to enhance public understanding of antimicrobial resistance, a growing global health concern. By engaging students and faculty in this initiative, UVAS demonstrated its commitment to educating the community about the responsible use of antimicrobials and the importance of collaborative efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance.
