University of Sindh Launches Plantation Campaign to Foster Greener Campus

Jamshoro, In an initiative aimed at environmental sustainability, the University of Sindh in Jamshoro has embarked on a plantation campaign within the premises of its Sindh Development Study Center. The campaign, inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and the center’s director, Dr. Iram Khushnood, encourages every student and faculty member to plant at least one sapling on campus, emphasizing the importance of these plants for future generations.

According to University of Sindh, the inauguration saw various dignitaries, including Regional Manager Hands Abdul Razzaq Imrani and Dr. Hamadullah Kakepoto, actively participating by planting their own saplings. In his address, Vice Chancellor Kalhoro highlighted the critical aspect of not just initiating but sustaining such environmental campaigns, underscoring the necessity of nurturing the saplings into full-grown trees. He envisioned a campus enriched with double or quadruple its current green cover, illustrating a commitment to environmental beauty, reduced temperatures, and enhanced rainfall.

The campaign extends beyond a mere call to action; it represents a collective commitment to environmental stewardship, with the Vice Chancellor stressing the role of students and faculty in ongoing maintenance efforts.
