University of Sindh Announces Closure During General Elections


Jamshoro, In light of the upcoming general elections, the University of Sindh Jamshoro, along with all its campuses and model schools, will be closed from February 6 to February 9, 2024. This temporary closure is to facilitate the smooth conduct of the electoral process and accommodate the involvement of university employees who have been assigned election duties.



According to University of Sindh, the closure will affect the main campus in Jamshoro, the Elsa Qazi Campus in Hyderabad, the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Campus in Dadu, the Syed Al Hindu Shah Campus in Nowshahroferoz, the Thatta and Lad Campus in Badin, as well as the Syed Panah Ali Shah Model School in Jamshoro and the Dr. NA Baloch Model School in Hyderabad. The decision, detailed in a notification issued by the university’s registrar, aims to ensure that the academic institutions affiliated with the University of Sindh do not face any disruptions during the election period.



Employees of the university who have been nominated for election-related responsibilities are instructed to contact Abdul Wahid Hisbani, the focal person appointed by the university, for further instructions and guidance pertaining to their duties. This measure is part of the university’s effort to contribute to the orderly execution of the general elections, reflecting its commitment to civic responsibility and the democratic process.
