Convocation Rehearsal:

Convocation rehearsal will be held on February 17, 2022 at 3:30 PM.

The participation in convocation rehearsal is mandatory for all graduating participants and attendance will be marked accordingly.

Convocation ceremony will be held on Friday and Saturday February 18 and 19, 2022. The graduating participants are advised to report at UMT Greens according to the program mentioned in their invitation cards.

The graduating participants who remain absent on the day of rehearsal will not be allowed to take part in the formal convocation ceremony, regardless of their payment of the convocation registration fee.

The participants having formal dressing with their respective gowns will be allowed to take part in the convocation rehearsal session and on the day of convocation respectively.

Please note that the convocation rehearsal will be attended by the graduating participants whereas on the day of convocation each graduate can invite two parents.

Invitation Card for Guests:

On payment of convocation registration and after the issuance of convocation ID card, a graduating participant shall be entitled for the invitation card. Please keep this card with you to provide later on demand.

Dress Code:

Male and female students both should be in formal dresses with gown and attend the ceremony according to their assigned programs.

Discipline:

In preview of the security situation of the country, please extend full cooperation with the security personnel on duty and avoid arguing with them or acting against their advice. This is for everyone’s safety and security – including your and your loved ones’.

Cooperate with the members of Convocation Committee, Faculty and Staff, Event Ushers, and follow their directions during rehearsal as well as in the convocation ceremony to make it a memorable day.

Maintain discipline at all times during the rehearsal as well as the ceremony.

Cell phones are to be switched off on the day of convocation rehearsal and during the ceremony.

Photography during the proceedings of formal rehearsal and convocation day is strictly prohibited.

Avoid littering, gossiping, and roaming around aimlessly.

Walk in line, follow the rhythm, and remain seated once inside the ceremony hall.

All graduating participants are expected to enter and exit the ceremony hall along with their Schools/Institutes as directed by the Staff and Event Ushers.

Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Briefcase, cameras, and other similar items are also not allowed in the university premises.

Do not leave the ceremony once you have stepped down of the stage. Only leave the ceremony on your turn, along with your school in accordance with the ceremony decorum.

Convocation Reception Desk

On the convocation day, the “Reception Desks” will be established at the site of convocation. Please mark your attendance at the desk before proceeding for the venue.

The graduating participants and all other officials dressed up in their prescribed robes will assemble according to the given plan at the reception desk. They will be specially received and greeted by the university staff posted at the reception desk.

Lahore, February 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):We are pleased to inform you that the 21st Convocation 2022 is scheduled to be held on Friday-Saturday, February 18-19, 2022. Participants are advised to attend their convocation according to the program as mentioned on the invitation card, to be delivered with the gown.

It is mandatory for all the graduating participants to report at the UMT Greens to attend the rehearsal for the convocation at 3:30 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

The schedule to be followed for receiving the convocation gown and the invitation card to attend the ceremony is as follows:

Date: February 15-17, 2022 (Tuesday-Thursday)

Time: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Venue: Room # 301 (First Floor), COHORT Building, UMT

Please note:

On the day of rehearsal, only the graduating participants are invited whereas, on the day of convocation each graduating participant can accompany two parents.

You are advised to bring the following mandatory documents to collect your invitation card and gown:

1. Copy of your CNIC

2. Convocation participation payment receipt

3. Copy of Vaccination Certificate of the parents

Wearing a face mask in the university premises is mandatory.

All graduating participants are expected to attend the Convocation in formal / national dressing.

Please bring your original CNIC along with you on the day of convocation.

Each invitation card is valid for the entry of the one graduating participant with two parents.

Keeping in view the security and safety measures, please extend full cooperation with the security personnel on duty.

Bags / electronic gadgets / personal belongings are not allowed.

While attending the ceremony, please keep your invitation card with you to submit later on-demand.

Lahore, February 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):Asad Qaiser, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan visited UMT and met Ibrahim Hasan Murad, President UMT to discuss higher education reforms in Pakistan. President UMT gave him a brief introduction of the university and Asad Qaisar discussed plans of doing a grand venture together.

Dr. Asif Raza, Rector UMT in his address said it was an immense pleasure to welcome Asad Qaiser and other parliamentary members at UMT. He gave a brief description of UMT and expressed that it is one of the leading universities of Pakistan. He said that the faculty of UMT has set high standards to create credible participants in every field. UMT is working to further enhance its capacity to accommodate the government in the provision of higher education in the country, he added.

Asad Qaiser, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan said in his address that it is an honour for me to talk to the leaders of the society and a pleasure to visit an educational institute like UMT. Speaking to the faculty he said that you are the people due to which our country is enlightened with knowledge. He expressed that I have been the provincial president of my party for nine years and I owe my success to the support and dedication of my teachers.

Asad Qaiser applauded the role of Khurram Murad in the formation of this prestigious institution and said that he himself formed an educational institution from being inspired by the founder of UMT. He appreciated the administration of UMT working in such a professional way. He expressed that it is only because of a teacher’s hard work, persistence, commitment, and passion for education that can transform the future generation into leaders of the nation.

He highlighted that bringing transformation in society and achieving goals is only possible when you come out of your comfort zone. Teachers are the pillars of our society, a treasure of our nation, and can give to the society what no politician can, he added. In his concluding remarks, he said that it is only commitment, dedication, and devotion that can make you a trademark of education. Students and teachers should compete with the international universities, he advised, as it is a pity that universities of our country have not made it to the world rankings. President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad also presented souvenirs to Mr. Asad Qaiser and other parliamentary members.

Lahore, January 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad and Director-General UMT Abid Sherwani met with Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Saturday, January 8, 2022. PM’s Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar inaugurated the UMT CrossFit Center and admired the leadership qualities of Ibrahim Murad as well as the educational standards and facilities of sports provided by UMT to its participants.

Ibrahim Murad gave Usman Dar a brief overview of UMT’s curricular and extracurricular activities and said that UMT always empowers youth for the benefit of the nation. He further expressed that we are honoured to establish the first Kamyab Jawan Markaz from amongst any private university in the country that will cater to the needs of the future of Pakistan.

Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar appreciated UMT’s efforts for empowering youth. He also expressed that UMT is assisting the government to bring talented youth forward and providing the best platform to perform. Usman Dar also shared that the government recognizes the importance of sports both for boys and girls for the empowerment of youth and gender equality. He further added that the youth is the most precious human capital of our nation and they have to be provided with an enabling environment so they can contribute to the economic growth of Pakistan.

Lahore, January 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):A team from the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, Islamabad visited the School of Pharmacy, University of Management and Technology, Lahore on December 27, 2021. The main purpose of the visit was to verify the facilities provided to the participants to grant a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Pharm D program.

After the meeting of the Pharmacy Council held on January 1, 2022, NOC was granted to the School of Pharmacy for one hundred seats per annum in the Pharm D program. The School of Pharmacy at the University of Management and Technology shall officially commence the Pharm D program now.

Lahore, January 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):A team from Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) at UMT swept the runners up spots in a nationwide agriculture, and food science competition held at MNS University of Agriculture, Multan.

The mega national event – Distinguished, Innovation, Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship Agriculture and Food Science (DICE AFS) Competition – was held from December 27 to 28, 2021 and teams from all leading universities of the country competed for the top prize.

The HSM team participated with a total of six projects in the competition and won the 2nd and 3rd positions by outshining projects from other university teams.

More than 150 projects were presented from various universities across Pakistan in four categories. All projects went through a rigorous evaluation process where sustainability, social impact, and commercialization were assessed by noted experts.

HSM faculty members Mubbasher Munir, Kamran Hameed, Dr Naveed Yazdani, and Dr Noman Arshed assisted the HSM throughout the competition.

The details of the successful business ideas are as follows:

2nd Prize
