The participants who have registered for the 24th Convocation are required to collect their convocation gowns and invitation cards according to the schedule outlined below:

a) All attendees are expected to come dressed in formal or national attire for the convocation ceremony.

b) Please note that each invitation card permits entry for one graduate and up to two accompanying parents only.

c) While in attendance at the ceremony, we kindly request that you keep your invitation card in your possession. This is to ensure that it can be presented upon request at a later time, if necessary.

d) In light of the security and safety measures in place, we kindly request that you extend your full cooperation to the security personnel on duty.

HEC Program Review Team Pays a Visit to UMT

Lahore, May 23, 2022 (PPI-OT): The HEC Program Review Team visited the University of the Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore on May 18, 19 and 20, 2022. The purpose of this visit was to evaluate the university regarding the implementation of the minimum criteria of HEC for launching and continuing MS/MPhil and PhD programs while maintaining the quality of education.

The Program Review Team consisted of seven academicians and professionals led by Dr Nadeem Malik (Convener), Dr Sofia Ahmed, Dr Hizbullah Khan, Dr Ikhtiar Ali Ghumro, Dr Muhammad Asif Chaudhary and Dr Javed Ahmed Shahani along with Muhammad Ghazanfar Bhatti (Assistant Director HEC-QAA).

The HEC visit continued for three days in which there were different activities including a review of program manuals, and policies along with rules and regulations of the university. In addition, interactive sessions were carried out with Deans / Directors / Chairpersons of Departments, Faculty, Students, Registrar, Controller Examinations, Treasurer, and Director Office of Human Capital Management (OHCM). The Program Review Team also inspected university facilities like the library, laboratories, studios, classrooms, etc as per the plan and expressed great satisfaction with the facilities provided within the campus to the faculty, students, and staff.

Before their departure, the honourable Rector UMT Dr Asif Raza had a meeting with the HEC PR Team and presented them with souvenirs. The team of Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell (AAQIC) extends sincere thanks to the UMT thought leadership, faculty, staff, and students for their cooperation and support during the three-day HEC visit.

UMT Faculty Sweeps Funding for 4 More Research Projects from HEC-NRPU

Lahore, May 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) is proud of the extraordinary achievement of our faculty. They have won funding for four more research projects from the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

The credit for this outstanding success goes to the honoured faculty members of the School of Food and Agricultural Sciences (SFAS), Department of Mathematics and Department of Chemistry of the School of Science (SSC) and School of Systems and Technology (SST), Sialkot Campus.

The details of the NRPU projects winners are:

Dr Hafiz Ubaid Ur Rahman and Dr Nauman Khalid (won 681,9500/- PKR)

The ORIC team will facilitate these projects until their completion. As always, ORIC remains committed to its endeavours to support the faculty in conducting applied research at UMT. This achievement will also encourage other UMT faculty members to apply for research grants with the same zeal.

Tuberculosis Awareness Session arranged by KUHS 

Sialkot, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Knowledge Unit of Health Sciences arranged/participated in the following activities in the month of March 2022. An awareness session about Tuberculosis was held at Bethania Hospital in which clinical faculty UMT, staff/faculty Bethania Hospital, and students participated. Afterward, a walk was also held for the cause. World Tuberculosis Day, observed on 24 March each year, is designed to build public awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis (TB) and efforts to eliminate the disease. In 2018, 10 million people fell ill with TB, and 1.5 million died from the disease, mostly in low and middle-income countries. This also makes it the leading cause of death from an infectious disease.

KUHS arranged an Awareness, Assessment and Treatment Camp 

Sialkot, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Knowledge Unit of Health Sciences arranged an Awareness, Assessment and Treatment Camp for the general public at Fatima Jinnah Park regarding a balanced diet, the role of individualized exercises, and prevention strategies against diseases.

This camp was completely free of cost as a part of charity/pro bono services by the health care professionals. Dr. Danyal, Dr. Zahra, Dr. Huma, and Ms. Majida accompanied by 30 KUHS students of senior classes ran the camp on Thursday 31st March 2022.
