We are the jiyalas who confronted Zia, Musharraf, terrorists and Modi: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, July 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Nakyal, Azad Kashmir in connection with the PPP election campaign in Azad Kashmir on Monday and addressed a huge and charged crowd. He said that the next government in Azad Kashmir will be of the PPP.

He said that the 5th July 1977 was a black day in Pakistani’s history when the first directly elected government was toppled in a coup by the dictator General Zia-ul-Haq. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was Quaid-e-Awam; he was the chairman of the Islamic Summit, he was the founder of nuclear capability of Pakistan and was the leader who gave lands to the landless poor growers, gave rights to the labourers and worked for the poor people of Pakistan. The dictator thought that they will finish the ideology of Bhutto by physically eliminating him.

After Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto resisted two dictators to complete the incomplete mission of her father. Then the same people martyred Benazir Bhutto thinking that they could finish the ideology of Bhuttos and capture the whole system but they did not know that the leaders of the people live in the hearts and minds of the people. They did not know that the jiyalas of the PPP are steadfast on the Bhuttos’ ideology. The jiyalas are standing firm and are not ready to compromise on Kashmir and will continue the struggle for the people’s rights. The coward rulers and all the puppet parties are afraid of these jiyalas. The PPP is the only party supported by the people of Kashmir and Pakistan.

Chairman Bilawal said that the President PPP Azad Kashmir, Latif Akbar has survived two attacks by the cowards. The Muslim Conference attacked him and then the ones who claim that votes should be respected attacked him. Let me tell them that we are well able to defend and the jiyalas are there to defend their leaders but we will not let you do such politics. We will compete with Muslim Conference, puppet in Azad Kashmir and the puppet in Islamabad and will defeat all of them in elections. We are the jiyalas who confronted Zia, Musharraf, terrorists and Modi. We do not invite Modi to our wedding celebrations; do not pray for Modi’s success in elections.

We are the jiyalas who learnt the lesson that if need be we will fight a thousand years for Kashmir and will shed our blood where the Kashmiris shed their sweat. We had the leader whose calls for strike were observed by the Kashmiris in the occupied Kashmir as well as the Azad Kashmir. This coward puppet asked “What can I do?” in the national assembly when Modi launched a historic attack on Kashmir. The Kashmiri people cannot tolerate this cowardice. The Kashmiris will send a message to the world on 25 July that they do not want any kind of puppet government but a real people’s government that is of the PPP.

We can defeat India by bringing more economic prosperity in Azad Kashmir than in Occupied Kashmir. We in the past brought prosperity to the people during our tenure in the government. We increased the salaries of government employees and pensions of the retired elderly people. We will complete the mission of our leaders Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Chairman Bilawal said that his politics will be the politics of truth not like the puppet who promised the sun, moon and stars but made millions unemployed and without their abodes. He said that there is a puppet as ruler now and there were also puppet rulers in the past as well.

The only PPP believes in the power of the people. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto raised slogan “Hamara Naara Sab Pe Bhari, Rai Shumari Rai Shumari”. You will decide for yourself as Kashmiris because no puppet can decide in your favour. The relations between the Kashmiris and the PPP go back three generations. The people in the other parties are the same people who were disloyal to the mission of Bhutto’s and had left the party. Chairman Bilawal said that he is ready to work with everyone who had ever raised slogan of Jeay Bhutto ever. He offered them to forget the past and prepare for the future. The PPP is the only party which can overcome this economic crisis and can negotiate with China as well as the United States. The victory belongs to the PPP.

There needs to be a fair and transparent inquiry into the death of Dodo Bheel: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, July 05, 2021 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken notice of the death of a labourer Dodo Bheel in Islamkot and asked Chief Minister, Sindh for a fair and transparent inquiry into incident. Seeking a report on the incident, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari demanded that justice prevail and that those found guilty be arrested immediately in the interest of justice.

The coup of 5th July 1977 sowed and watered the seeds of intolerance, extremism and terrorism: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, July 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that July 5 will always be remembered as the Black Day in Pakistan’s history. The military coup that toppled the first democratically-elected people’s government, led by Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, by a tin-pot dictator General Zia, marked the vicious assault on the democratic aspirations of the people of Pakistan.

In his message on the dark anniversary of that coup, the PPP Chairman said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had united the nation by picking up the pieces following the fall of Dhaka, and bringing together the nation in a vibrant democratic system with strong economic ambitions.

He said that that as the first democratically elected Prime Minister, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, oversaw the passage of the Constitution with unanimous support, laid the grounds for Pakistan’s macro-economic foundations, gave the right of citizenship and passports to every Pakistani, and set the country on the road to becoming a nuclear power. Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, also empowered the people by democratising the state, taking power from the select few, and passing it to the people, he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the 1977 martial law was the worst-ever attack on the people of Pakistan, and it’s pall continues to haunt this nation decades after the dictators demise. The coup of 5th July 1977 sowed and watered the seeds of intolerance, extremism and terrorism, allowing their roots to grow and embed themselves across our society, plaguing us till this day, he added.

He pointed out that Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto united the Muslim Ummah and led the Islamic world with foresight and political sagacity. He faced and challenged two dictators, and bravely fought the battle for the people’s rights, never once wavering, even when faced by the gallows. His supporters and followers were subjected to inhuman torture including lashes, solitary confinement, imprisonment and hanging, the PPP Chairman added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that even today the war between democratic and dictatorial forces continued to rage on, and the philosophy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto has become the rallying cry of all democratic forces. “Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto said, ‘Either power must pass to the people, or everything will perish’, words that remain as true as we fight for Pakistan’s democratic survival today.

It is a truth that is at the core of every democratic Pakistani, and it is why Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto lives on, while his tormenters have been condemned to the dustbin of history,” he added. The PPP Chairman paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for laying down his life instead of compromising on the rights of the people as well as the country.

We cannot record our vote for the budget and FATF. If this is not rigging then what is? Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly criticised the Speaker’s conduct yesterday and said that the Speaker snatched the right of every member of the National Assembly. Chairman PPP said the way this budget session was run became an embarrassment for the entire nation. The Opposition Leader was physically attacked which was witnessed by the entire country. He said that every member has the right to represent his or her constituency whether they voted for a budget for progress or destruction. This should have come on record.

Addressing the Speaker he said that you did not allow the vote count. The government faced difficulties for the 172 votes. I salute your treasury members especially the government member Amir Dogar who with utmost difficulties gathered 172 members of treasury benches. If you had accepted our request of counting then the entire nation would have seen that the PM did not have 172 votes. You should have ordered to close the doors and make division but you waited until all the treasury members were in.

Before you, the Deputy Speaker also delayed the proceedings for gathering members of the treasury bench. You have violated the rules. This attitude will not protect the right of voting. According to rule 276 you are bound to take challenge of voice vote. The last stage of voting does not show who voted for the budget and how. We think that at the time of final vote count we could have been counted. You did not count but when I challenged the voice vote you got up and left.

Chairman Bilawal strongly condemned this attitude of the Speaker. Some members worked hard for this budget. Makhhdoom Jamil came to the assembly despite a death in his family. Ahsan Mazari also attended the budget session yesterday despite a death in his family. My father is sick but he sat here from beginning to the end, he said. Unfortunately some opposition members and your role let down not only the opposition members but the treasury benches as well. What is the solution of it, he asked. We cannot record our vote for the budget and FATF, if this is not rigging then what is?

After the speech of a member from Multan, Chairman Bilawal on personal explanation said that he has the right to respond to him. He said that we know this member from Multan far better than you. Imran Khan has yet to know his character. I will not take his name because I do not give him importance. He wants to hear his own voice and not of his Prime Minister.

He said that if the treasury benches do not let me speak then Imran Khan will also not be able to speak in the National Assembly. If you run this house according to rules then I promise that all of the PPP members will sit quietly during Imran Khan’s speech. He said that if you do not follow the rules, this house will not run. This foreign minister is involved in selling Kashmir, he has to deal with the emerging situation in Afghanistan but failed to manage a phone call from the US President Joe Biden for his Prime Minister. This is embarrassing for the whole nation that our prime minister is so un-important that he cannot even receive a phone call. This foreign minister is about to become a threat for his party and his prime minister.

Chairman Bilawal said that this member from Multan had promised to create South Punjab province but now he has announced not to contest elections again because he did not fulfil that promise. This member talked about the Sindh assembly. The Opposition Leader was attacked by the “monkeys” in the National Assembly, similar kinds of cartoons tried to do the same in the Sindh Assembly. The way you had suspended members, the same way the Sindh Assembly Speaker suspended a few members. These cartoons have created a history as they have not moved even one cut motion in Sindh Assembly.

This shows their non-serious attitude in the assemblies. I ask the Prime Minister to request the ISI to tape the telephones of this member of the assembly because when he was PPP’s foreign minister, he used to campaign in the entire world to replace him with Yousuf Raza Gilani as the Prime Minister. This is the truth and is the reason that he was booted out as foreign minister. Chairman Bilawal asked the Speaker to run the house according to the rules and provide equal opportunities to the treasury and opposition benches.

The PM should give an account of the past three years, not talk about what he will do next: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressing a press conference at the Zardari House Islamabad on Wednesday said that the whole budget session was an insult to the people. Due to the role of the government and the attitude of the speaker, what should have happened did not happen. We were deprived of our rights, we could not even record our votes. The people want to hear what is happening in Lahore, Quetta, Karachi and Multan. They do not want a lecture on history or Islamic history from Imran Khan and what happens in different parts of the world. You had to give a three year record, you are lecturing us, and you are trying to fool the nation. All the ministers were cheering on this kind of budget.

Chairman PPP said that every step made by the government is benefitting the rich not the poor. Assembly employees are committing suicide. The people for the past three years have been hearing the same thing over and over again. The public doesn’t want to hear about the NRO and how bad it was before. You have given tax amnesty for these people. This budget is also NRO to the rich, there is relief for the rich and distress for the poor. The people must have confidence in the state and democracy. You are giving arrest powers in the name of FBR which is totally wrong.

Replying to the questions by the journalists Chairman PPP said that the PM should give account for past three years, not say what he will do next. Now the Prime Minister has no time, the people will hold him accountable. We will hold you accountable for all these wrongdoings. Instead of telling stories, the speech should tell us the solution to problems.

Chairman Bilawal said that Asad Qaiser has been the worst speaker in the country’s parliamentary history. Chairman Bilawal said that the opposition was deprived of its right by the Speaker of the National Assembly. Leader of the House means accountable to the nation and parliament. Shahbaz Sharif could not attend the session due to a death in his family but the other opposition members should have been in the house. It is hoped that JUI-F and PML-N will issue show cause notices to their members. Will send notices to members who were not in the House.

No other agency should interfere in the work of NAB. Unless the chairman and all officers bring their assets, they have no right to check the assets of others. Chairman Bilawal strongly condemned the raid on the house of Aijaz Jakhrani by the NAB and said that the raid was conducted at a time when Aijaz Jakhrani was not even at home. Aijaz Jakhrani was elected a member National Assembly but his elections were rigged. He had asked for recount but was not listened to. We demand of the Election Commission to order a recount in his constituency.

Today’s budget approval is unconstitutional and illegal: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, June 29, 2021 (PPI-OT): Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday has said that the budget was passed illegally; the speaker has robbed the members of their votes today. He has written a letter to the Speaker in this regard. He said that what has happened in the National Assembly today is a bad tradition. Each member has the right to represent his or her constituency.

The Speaker verbally approves the bill to the National Assembly and if a member challenges, the speaker must take notice of it. Today, when I challenged a voice vote on an important occasion the speaker violated the rules of the speaker and deprived me of my right. It is sad to say that the Speaker has violated the sanctity of Parliament. Today’s budget approval is unconstitutional and illegal. I have written a letter to the Speaker on this. If this mistake is not rectified, this budget will be illegal. This budget of this government is morally unconstitutional. We will take up this issue from Kashmir to Karachi.

Chairman PPP said that the PPP members were all present. I am responsible for my own party. He said that we have no confidence in this chair after the attack on the Leader of the Opposition. If political resistance does not come now, when will it come? He will raise the issue of incomplete number of opposition before Shahbaz Sharif.

Responding to questions by the journalists, Chairman PPP said that the Speaker of the National Assembly has convened a meeting of the National Security Committee at my request. He will attend this meeting himself, and will put his suggestions to the government. In the past, we have always had the wrong policies towards Afghanistan. We have to learn from the mistakes of the past, otherwise the common man will have to suffer the consequences.

The assets of the NAB chairman should be made public. The assets of every NAB officer should be brought to light. Chairman NAB should voluntarily put the assets before the nation from the day of his appointment till date otherwise we will bring legislation.

He said that he hopes that all agencies responsible for national security will attend the committee meeting. We need to have a realistic policy on Afghanistan. Our Foreign Office has to play the right role. Our diplomatic campaign is not up to the mark on this issue. Success comes from solving problems, not spending less money visiting the United States. Our Prime Minister is being insulted all over the world. To date, President Biden has not spoken to him.
