Student’s week-2022 inaugurated at SALU 

Khairpur, November 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Students Week-2022 organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur inaugurated on Thursday November 17, 2022 at Dr. Syed Adeeb-ul-Hassan Rizvi Hall. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Science, Mr. Mir Rohal Khan Khoso, S.S.P, Khairpur and Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Advisor to Vice Chancellor on Academics jointly inaugurated the week.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari presided the inaugural ceremony while Mr. Mir Rohal Khan Khoso was the chief guest wherein Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari was the guest of honour. While delivering his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari remarked that the crux of this week aimed at to the sense of competition, tolerance and cooperation among the students. He said student’s activism is imperative for inclusive society He said co-curricular activities could contain militant tendencies, ethnicity and extremism.

It is the need of the hour to promote the sense of tolerant and peaceful campuses. Dr. Lashari said that I am very much thankful to Vice Chancellor who nominated me to preside this prestigious event. Mr. Mir Rohal Khan Khoso said I am extremely thankful to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto who extended an opportunity to interact with the students directly. He advised the students to manage their time because has value in their career building. He stressed the need to analyse and comparative studies of different disciplines by the students.

He remarked that there is great significance of books available at the library because these books are asset for the students not for showcase. He offered his services for the career counselling of the students voluntarily to prepare the students for competitive examinations.

Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari said that the students’ week will provide a viable platform for students to explore their field of competency. He said under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto different capacity building activities for faculty, officers, employees and students are being conducted on regular basis. Prof. Dr. Amir Hussain Shar, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences remarked that this week will provide learning about co-curricular activities as result the strength and capacity of the students will be enhanced.

Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar said that a positive mind-set will be developed among the students during the students’ week. He said credit goes to the Vice Chancellor and his team for organizing this meaningful week because students remained exhausted in the wake of COVID-19 and devastating flood.

Prof. Dr. Masih ullah Jatoi, Director Students Affairs accorded vote of thanks to the guests and briefed them about the various activities being conducted during the week. He said this week will provide ample opportunities to the students to take part in various activities and will shine their talent.

Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio, Students Advisor (Girls) cordially welcomed the guests and participants of the ceremony. She said a large number of girls students are participating in the week, this shows their enthusiasm in the co-curricular activities. She said our talented students are rendering their services in public and private sector at large. Dr. Nazar Hussain Kalwar, Students Advisor (Boys) conducted the proceedings of the ceremony. A large number of teachers, officer, employees and students attended the ceremony.

Student’s Week 2022 will start from tomorrow November 17, 2022 

Khairpur, November 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Masih ullah Jatoi, Director Student Affairs, Shah Abdul Latif University, and Khairpur has announced that the Students Week-2022 will start from tomorrow November 17 to Thursday November 24, 2022. The Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto will inaugurate the Week tomorrow at 10:00 am in the Dr. Adeeb-ul-Hassan Rizvi Hall of the University.

During the Week, different student’s co-curricular activities will be held i.e. Naat, Qirat, Declamation, Essay, Poetry and Painting Contests etc. will be organized. Dr. Jatoi said that this Week aimed at to promote the sense of competition among the students and involve them in the healthy activities. All the Faculty Members and Students are informed to attend the inaugural ceremony and participate in the activities with enthusiasm.

Workshop on how to write research paper held 

Khairpur, November 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Institute of Gender Studies, Shah Abdul Latif University, and Khairpur organized one-day workshop on How to Write Research Paper? Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided the concluding ceremony of the workshop.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said research and development implies about progress and development because innovation and invention lead to establishment of progress nations. He suggested that in future the research on project designing may be conducted to apprise the Faculty Members how to prepare their research projects. He also appreciated the endeavours of Prof. Dr. Agha Nadia, Director Institute of Gender Studies for organizing such types of workshops.

Dr. Waseem Ishaque, Professor, National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad spoke as chief guest. He said it is the need of time to write research papers in terms of quality. He said that the basis of quality research paper depends on subject knowledge, independent research, focus on research methodology, selected target audience, field of specialization, he added.

Dr. Muhammad Khan, Professor, International Islamic University, Islamabad spoke as guest of honor. He said research culture may be promoted at large scale so we could contain the deep routed issues i.e. Ethnicity, Sectarianism, Political Polarization in the society because these are the indigenous themes for research.

He also appreciated the efforts of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for promoting the research culture at the campus to equip the youth with research methodology and new trends of research. Prof. Dr. Agha Nadia was the trainer of the workshop. She said research is base and support for the ranking of the Universities. She suggested that a research institute as separate entity may be established to embark the research independently.

Dr. Agha Nadia remarked that the participants of the workshop learnt a lot regarding the new trends and methodology how to write research papers. Such activities are an integral part of the Institute of Gender Studies. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences extended vote of thanks to the guests and participants. He said I am optimistic that the participants will utilize their skills in practical life regarding research. The certificates were distributed among the participants of the workshop.

Ph.D Open Defense seminar held 

Khairpur, November 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Ph. D Open Defense Seminar was held in the Institute of International Relations, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Ph. D Research Scholar Mr. Bilal Muhammad delivered his seminar on the topic “Sino-US Engagement in Asia-Pacific: Challenges and Opportunities” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amir Ahmed Khuhro. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the open defense.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that the topic of the research scholar is very important having strategic, political, and economic significance. It will provide advantage to the policy makers, research scholars and students in the field of international politics. He appreciated the efforts of Director Institute of International Relations for striving to promote the research culture in the institute.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences said that the Asia Pacific remained strategic and geo-political centric. It has great significance in term of economic and natural resources. He shed light on the research work of the scholar. He said the research work has been accomplished in terms of modern trends of research.

Dr. Waseem Ishaque, Professor, National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad and Dr. Muhammad Khan, Professor, International Islamic University, Islamabad, External Research Experts also shared their views. They said that the research work of the scholar is indeed value-added and worth academic. They said that the peaceful rise of China is new phenomena in Asian Pacific and emerged as second largest economic power having 15 Trillion Dollar GDP. They also commended the hospitality extended by the Vice Chancellor.

Prof. Dr. Amir Ahmed Khuhro remarked that this research work conducted by the scholar will provide guideline for future scholars. It will be also additional significant research work for the Institute of International Relations. Research Scholar Mr. Bilal Muhammad said that geographically the region has immense strategic significance owing to world’s five major sea lines of communication connecting the world six largest ports alongside others.

He said in future Sino-US engagements in the regional will exacerbate and Pakistan being at important strategic crossroad will also attract the focus of both powers. He said that the objective of my research was to explore the regional geo-political landscape under the ambit of U.S-China interaction in various regional issues and future course of action.

Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh¸ Director Postgraduate Studies conducted the proceedings of the seminar. The open defense seminar was declared successful. Many Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students attended the seminar.

Launching ceremony of automation project Phase-I and digital class room project 

Khairpur, November 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Launching Ceremony of Automation Project Phase-I of Human Resource Management, Time Management, Undergraduate Admissions and Postgraduate Admissions Systems was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the project.

Talking to the participants of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said with the help of automation of different sections of University will enhance the capacity building, real time visibility and utilization, transparency and efficiency of the staff. As result, there will be prompt service delivery and good governance. He said it would help in the campus management system effectively.

Syed Munir Shah Rashdi, I.T Manager briefed the Vice Chancellor that credit of automation of first phase project goes to Worthy Vice Chancellor who’s continuous support and patronage remained tremendously for the implementation of this campus management system.

By implementation of this project payroll management, financial management, procurement management, undergraduate, postgraduate admissions system, enrolment management, examination semester and annual management, hostel management system will be revamped effectively.

Meanwhile, Digital Classroom was also inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto funded by the Govt. of Sindh. On this occasion, Dr. Ibupoto while talking in the ceremony said we are highly thankful Govt. of Sindh for providing funds for the establishment of state-of-art digital classroom at this University.

He said this digital classroom will provide ample opportunities to the scholars, academicians and postgraduate scholars to interact with international forums and scholars as well as this platform will be utilize for the public defense of Ph. D programs. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto appreciated the untiring efforts of Syed Munir Shah Rashdi for launching of these projects timely and effectively.

Syed Munir Shah Rashdi apprised the Vice Chancellor about the allied facilities available. He said we have established video link with Sindh HEC as well as Federal HEC to collaborate the research activities and linkages. He said that in first phase, only five Universities of Sindh were selected for the award of this project, Shah Abdul Latif University is one of them.

He said that this project is funded by Sindh Innovation Research Education Network (SIREN). The ceremonies were attended by the Deans, Advisor to Vice Chancellor, Directors, Sectional Heads, Teachers, Officers and Scholars.

Youth counselling and career guidance seminar held 

Khairpur, October 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Youth Counselling and Career Guidance Seminar was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Peace and Harmony Society in collaboration with Insan Dost Social Organization, Khairpur supported by Sports and Youth Affairs Govt. of Sindh.

Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Secretary Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad was the chief guest while Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences presided the event. Mr. Abdul Jabbar Rajpar, Executive Director Insan Dost Social Organization was the keynote speaker.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said prior selecting any profession, there is need of time management and planning to achieve the success. He advised the youth participants to manage their time and utilize their energies for the availing of right job. Dr. Lashari appreciated the patronage of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor for providing a viable platform for students of University to participate in the co-curricular activities at the campus.

Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah said I belong to rural setup. At that time, there was no proper guidance for career opportunities. Since you are lucky and availing the proper guidance for selecting appropriate job. He underlined the need to manage the life on scientific line for better career. Dr. Mallah appreciated the efforts of the Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for the establishment of Students Societies Centre for healthy activities.

Mr. Abdul Jabbar Rajpar said that it is high time that sense of civic education, career building and community engagement are vital for youth. In modern time, career counselling may be introduced as main subject in the curricula so the youth could avail job opportunities in public and private institutions.

Syed Juman Shah, Program Coordinator, Insan Dost Social Organization extended his vote of thanks for organizing this seminar and commended the efforts of incumbent Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto who is committed to provide possible facilities to the students and other stakeholders. He said that our organization is working for the capacity building of youth so they could play their pivotal role in the society in the befitting manner.
