Lahore: In a recent sermon at the Central Jamia Mosque of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Dr. Tanveer Qasim addressed the significance of adhering to Qur'anic etiquettes in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad, even in modern times. The sermon, titled "Etiquettes in the Presence of the Prophet: The Qur'anic Message and the Modern Human Being," focused on the enduring relevance of the Prophet's teachings, sayings, and Sunnah as a source of guidance.

According to the University of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Qasim emphasized that the Qur'an prescribes specific etiquettes for gatherings with the Prophet, asserting that these principles hold equal importance today. He pointed out that no individual or Imam's opinion can surpass the explicit commands of the Prophet. While honoring respected Imams as scholarly guides, Dr. Qasim stressed that their opinions should not equate to the Prophet's sayings.

Dr. Qasim also addressed contemporary issues such as the use of abusive language, sarcasm, mockery, intolerance, and the tendency to escalate differences into hostility, particularly in various social settings, including educational institutions and social media. He conveyed that true love for the Prophet is demonstrated through respect for his teachings, adherence to his Sunnah, and the adoption of his noble character.

The sermon underscored the necessity of maintaining proper etiquette whenever the Prophet's Hadith, teachings, or commands are discussed, aiming to foster a dignified, civilized, tolerant, and peaceful society, as guided by the Qur'an and the Seerah.
