Karachi, Minister of Religious Affairs Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed emphasized the significance of women’s roles in religious education and Hajj training during the closing ceremony of the Hajj Master Trainers training program for women at the International Islamic University (IIUI). The program, organized by IIUI’s Dawah Center for Women, highlighted the importance of empowering women in religious practices and knowledge.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, Minister Aneeq Ahmed announced that this year, female pilgrims will receive Abayas with the Pakistani flag, symbolizing national unity and religious devotion. He acknowledged the crucial role women play in preserving religious values and imparting them to future generations. The Minister also stressed the importance of women’s roles as mothers and sisters in Islamic society.
In his speech, Ahmed appreciated the efforts of IIUI’s Dawah Center for Women, announcing that the center’s trainers would be utilized in the Ministry’s future Hajj training programs. He reflected on the memories of Hajj and underscored the significant contributions of Muslim men and women in society.
Rector of IIUI, Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, commended the collaborative efforts of the Ministry and the Dawah Center for Women in the successful implementation of the Hajj training program. She highlighted the nationwide representation of women in the program, emphasizing their role as ambassadors of IIUI.
Dr. Abdul Rehman, Federal Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs, announced the extension of the training period for pilgrims and the launch of a Ministry app to guide them. He mentioned that special training videos from the program would be incorporated into the app, providing additional resources for pilgrims.
Dr. Faryal Anbarin, in-charge of the Dawah Center for Women, presented a detailed report on the center’s history, role, and activities. She emphasized that the university’s certification is approved by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, underscoring the program’s credibility.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of gifts to the guests and resource persons, marking the successful completion of the training program. This event represents a significant step in enhancing religious education and empowering women in the context of Hajj.
