IIUI Seminar Highlights Importance of Women’s Health in Empowerment

Karachi, The Department of Biological Sciences at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) hosted a seminal event titled My Health, My Decision, step ahead towards woman Empowerment, focusing on women’s physical and mental health. The seminar aimed to enlighten attendees on various aspects of women’s health and its critical role in empowerment.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, Dr. Shaheen Shahzad, Incharge of the Department of Biological Sciences, welcomed guest speakers and attendees, emphasizing the importance of self-love and care. She discussed the role of women’s health in society and how it contributes to their empowerment.

Dr. Aneela Javaid, Associate Professor at ASAB, NUST, was a distinguished speaker who provided an informative discussion on the complexities of women’s physical health. She addressed critical topics such as HIV virus infection, reproductive diseases, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention methods.

Dr. Sumara Masood, another esteemed guest and Associate Professor at NUST, focused on the significance of mental health in women’s overall well-being. She encouraged open discussions about mental health issues, acknowledging the courage of students who shared their experiences and queries.

Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, In-charge of the Female campus, expressed her appreciation for Dr. Shaheen Shahzad’s efforts in organizing the seminar, highlighting its importance in educating the younger generation about crucial health issues and preventive measures.

The seminar concluded with tokens of appreciation presented to the guest speakers. Dr. Naima Younas, the focal person for student activities at the Department of Biological Sciences, extended gratitude to the speakers and participants. She also commended the ACACIA Society members for their role in organizing this significant event on female health.
