Rawalpindi, The martyrdom day of Hazrat Zainab bint Ali (AS) is being observed today as “Yum Shreekat Al-Hussein (AS)”, marking a solemn occasion dedicated to the memory of the revered figure in Islamic history.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, Prof. Syed Hasan Naqvi, the convener of the TNFJ central commemoration day of Al-Hussain (AS) committee, highlighted the significant role of Hazrat Zainab bint Ali in the aftermath of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS). The 15th of Rajab, known as “Yum Shreekat Al Hussain (AS)”, is celebrated with religious fervor, devotion, and respect, as initiated by Jafaria leader Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi.
Prof. Naqvi emphasized that Hazrat Zainab, often referred to as the second Zahra, took on the mantle of Imam Hussain’s mission during a time of great tyranny. He noted that her contributions to Islam under the duress of dictatorship and kingship are still revered and studied today, especially her influence on women scholars.
On this occasion, Prof. Naqvi called upon citizens to protest against terrorism and show solidarity with all oppressed forces, including those who have suffered in Karbala, Kashmir, and Palestine. He stressed the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by women who have lost their children in these conflicts, and those fighting against Indian atrocities in Kashmir.
The day will also include prayers for the end of terrorism, the elevation of the Islamic world, the security and stability of Pakistan, and the success of the Pakistan Army’s anti-corruption operations.
This observance of “Yum Shreekat Al-Hussein (AS)” reflects the deep reverence for Hazrat Zainab’s legacy and the ongoing commitment to justice and resistance against oppression in the Islamic world.
