Lahore, The Department of Social Work at Punjab University convened a significant seminar, focusing on ‘Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Inspiring Change’. Eminent attendees included PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Chairperson of the Department of Social Work Prof Dr. Uzma Ashiq, and Executive Director of Initiatives for Sustainable Development Gul Hassan, among others.
According to a news release by University of the Punjab, The seminar, aiming to raise awareness on GBV and foster change, witnessed a series of engaging activities and discussions. Gul Hassan presented an overview of the GBV-JSSP Project, illuminating its pivotal objectives. Peace Ambassadors, individuals committed to promoting harmony, shared heartfelt testimonies underscoring the transformative effects of the project.
Further accentuating the event’s theme, a spirited debate on GBV was held, followed by a showcase of evocative paintings inspired by the topic. The seminar culminated with a profound address by INL Director Lori Antolinez, emphasizing the boundless potential for ushering in positive change when society comes together, unified in their intent to address and combat GBV issues.
