Punjab University Library Hosts Insightful Book Discussions in Lahore

Lahore, The Punjab University Library Book Club recently held an introductory talk on two notable books: ‘If We Burn: The Mass Protest Decade and the Missing Revolution’ by Vincent Bevins and ‘Falsafa e Naimat o Musibat’ by Maulana Qari Muhammad Tayyab. The event, which drew faculty members and numerous students, featured in-depth discussions led by esteemed professors from the university.

According to University of The Punjab, the session was enriched by the insights of Dr. Shahzeb Khan, Associate Professor at the Institute of English Studies, and Dr. Muhammad Rasheed Arshad, Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy. Dr. Khan provided a detailed analysis of Bevins’ work, ‘If We Burn,’ discussing the impact and intricacies of societal protests. He also recited verses from Munnu Bhai’s Nazam Ki Hoya Aye, aligning them with Bevin’s perspectives. Dr. Rasheed Arshad’s discussion on ‘Falsafa-e-Naimat-o-Musibat’ delved into the philosophical aspects of the concept of evil as a persistent challenge rather than just a problem.
