Lahore, The Punjab University Academic Council, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, has endorsed the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s policy on affiliated colleges, marking a significant step towards enhancing academic collaborations and broadening educational opportunities.
According to University of the Punjab, the council’s recent meeting saw the participation of Registrar Dr. Ahmed Islam, deans from various faculties, department heads, and professors, where a consensus was reached to adopt the HEC’s affiliation policy. In alignment with the Vice-Chancellor’s vision, the council approved the initiation of a pioneering joint degree program in BS Agri-Business, a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Hailey College of Commerce.
Additionally, the Academic Council sanctioned the commencement of numerous degree programs across the BS, MS, and PhD levels, reflecting the university’s commitment to expanding its academic repertoire and fostering an environment conducive to interdisciplinary learning.
This move by the Punjab University Academic Council is expected to enhance the academic framework and open new avenues for students, promoting a more integrated and versatile educational landscape.
