Rawalpindi: In a spirited celebration of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, the Punjab Council of the Arts (PUCAR), Rawalpindi, in collaboration with the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), hosted a colorful event. The ceremony featured a flag hoisting, cake cutting, speeches, national songs, and a tableau competition under the theme “Marka-e-Haq – By Our Brave Armed Forces.”
Mrs. Shazia Rizwan, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Information and Culture Department of the Government of Punjab, served as the chief guest. She distributed prizes to the winners, commending the patriotic spirit and heartfelt performances by participating students.
The ceremony recognized top performers in three categories: Speech, National Songs, and Tableau. Peak School, Rawalpindi, secured first place in the speech competition, followed by Brightland School and Sir Syed School. Naeem Islamia School won the national song competition, with Brightland School and Saint Mary’s School taking second and third places, respectively. In the tableau competition, Sir Syed School took the top honors, followed by Naeem Islamia School and Brightland School.
Mr. Ibrar, President of APPSMA, extended his gratitude to all participating schools and the Arts Council’s management. Muhammad Shakoor, Director of the Punjab Council of the Arts, expressed appreciation to attendees and highlighted the importance of engaging youth in national celebrations to nurture patriotism and cultural identity.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for a prosperous Pakistan.
