Lahore, Musrat Jamshed Cheema, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has voiced strong opposition to the recent increases in the prices of petroleum products. Cheema criticized the government’s economic policies, claiming they have exacerbated the financial struggles of ordinary citizens, making daily sustenance increasingly difficult.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Cheema expressed concern over the spiraling cost of living, driven by higher petroleum and electricity prices, which he said have triggered an inflationary storm. He pointed out the irony of long-term rulers lamenting the nation’s hardships, accusing current government representatives of misleading the public with overly optimistic economic reports. Cheema highlighted the dire situation faced by many Pakistanis, forced to choose between basic necessities like food and paying their electricity bills.
The PTI leader emphasized that without adherence to the rule of law and constitution, Pakistan’s conditions would not improve. He affirmed PTI’s commitment to intensify its efforts to fight for the rights of the people in the face of these challenges.
