Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari, in a message for World Population Day, emphasized the potential of Pakistan’s predominantly youthful population, urging investment in education and healthcare to drive national progress. Pakistan's youth, comprising over 65% of the population, represents a significant opportunity for economic growth if provided with appropriate resources.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari highlighted the need for improving health services, particularly for women and children, to ensure sustainable development. He called attention to maternal health, child nutrition, and education as essential elements for a prosperous society. Zardari also invoked the vision of the late Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who advocated for women's rights and empowerment as crucial to national development.
Zardari's message underscored the interconnectedness of population and development, stressing that progress in healthcare, education, and gender equality can lead to a more resilient society. He urged collaboration among stakeholders, including government bodies and civil society, to promote the health and empowerment of the population, aiming for an inclusive and sustainable future for Pakistan.
