President Zardari Acknowledges Chinese Support, Eyes Deeper Bilateral Ties


Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari expressed gratitude towards Chinese President Xi Jinping for his congratulatory message on Zardari’s re-election as the President of Pakistan. In a heartfelt response to President Xi’s letter, Zardari outlined his vision for bolstering the practical cooperation between the two nations, reinforcing the all-weather partnership, and cultivating a shared community to advance mutual interests.



According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari’s letter to President Xi emphasized the enduring and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and China. He described the bond between the two countries as “unique,” built upon mutual respect, understanding, and shared perspectives on global issues. Zardari remarked on the significance of their friendship for regional peace, stability, and development, referring to Pakistan and China as “iron-clad brothers” deeply committed to their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.



Highlighting the achievements in bilateral cooperation, President Zardari specifically noted the progress made in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project underlining the economic and strategic partnership. He acknowledged President Xi’s crucial support for CPEC, attributing it as instrumental in realizing the shared goals of progress and prosperity for both nations.



President Zardari’s correspondence further appreciated President Xi Jinping’s recognition of Zardari’s dedication to strengthening the friendship between China and Pakistan, signaling a commitment to further deepen ties in the coming years.
