Karachi, February 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding matters of mutual interest and relief work in the flood affected areas. The Naval Chief appreciated the services of PRCS and also indicated on joint relief work in the flood affected areas of the country.
Chairman PRCS briefed the Naval Chief about the ongoing relief operation in Pakistan. He said that so far Red Crescent has helped more than 2.4 million affected families and this process is still ongoing. He said that clean drinking water, household necessities, cash assistance, cooked food and hygiene kits have been provided by the Red Crescent and there are still 29 mobile health unit teams in the affected areas.
He said that two districts are still under water and PRCS will remain in the field until the last affected person is rehabilitated. PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari also extended the invitation to Naval Chief Muhammad Amjad Niazi to visit PRCS National Headquarters. On this occasion, commemorative shields were also exchanged from both sides.
