Police Officials with Ties to Dacoits Should Be Fired: Iqbal Hashmi Calls for Action Against Corrupt Policemen

Karachi, Iqbal Hashmi of the Pasban Democratic Party has strongly criticized police officials who are in contact with dacoits in the Kutch area, calling them a stain on the reputation of the police force. He emphasized that these individuals should be dismissed and should not be allowed to serve in Karachi’s police stations.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Hashmi stated that deploying infamous Kutch police officers in Karachi police stations poses a severe threat to national security and the economic stability of the country’s largest city. He questioned whether the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh intends to turn Karachi into a slum by allowing such corruption to persist. The presence of notorious policemen would only exacerbate Karachi’s existing problems with street crime and criminal activity.

Hashmi noted that Karachi has been a hotspot for criminal elements for a long time, with street crime rates alarmingly high. He criticized the police and other law enforcement agencies for their inability to maintain law and order in the city. Despite the visible presence of criminals and dacoits, they are rarely apprehended, he said.

The deployment of policemen with proven ties to dacoits will worsen Karachi’s security situation, Hashmi warned. He urged the Sindh police to conduct thorough investigations and immediately dismiss any officials found guilty of aiding or supporting criminal elements. Continuing to allow such officers to serve will likely lead to increased crime in Karachi and other areas.

Hashmi’s remarks highlight the pressing need for accountability and reform within the Sindh police force, with a focus on eradicating corruption and improving the safety and security of Karachi’s residents.
