More relief items and aid supplies will be distributed gradually over time. The flood victims applauded the Pakistan Red Crescent and its movement partners’ efforts and expressed hope that this will continue in their area.

Turkey and Qatar Red Crescent delegation also visited the free medical camp set up by Pakistan Red Crescent-Sindh for the flood victims in Sajawal, where more than 700 patients, including men, women and children, were treated and given free medicines. Moreover, the Kuwait Red Crescent delegation visited the Pakistan Red Crescent’s water purification plant in Juhi, Dadu, where flood victims get clean drinking water.

According to Yusuf Al-Meraj, Director of Disaster Management and Emergency Unit, Kuwait Red Crescent would soon provide food, non-food items, and medicines to Pakistan Red Crescent for flood-affected areas in Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab provinces.

Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, the newly appointed Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society National Headquarters, appreciated the role of the Turkish, Qatar, and Kuwait Red Crescent Societies in mitigating the suffering of the most vulnerable in Pakistan’s devastating floods. “The Pakistan Red Crescent is reaching every flood-prone area of Pakistan to assist the flood-affected, and this will continue,” Chairman Laghari stated.

In a statement, Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent-Sindh Samar Ali Khan stated that PRCS-Sindh has already dispatched thousands of relief items, including tents, mosquito nets, stoves, kitchen sets, jerry cans, tarpaulin sheets, hurricane lamps, shelter tool kits, blankets, jackets, water filters, shawls, buckets, hygiene kits for children and women, and so on to Red Crescent District Branches in Thatta, Badin, Dadu, Shikarpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.

In response to the severe monsoon rains and flooding in various locations of Sindh, the majority of relief materials have been distributed immediately among flood-affected people in all eight districts. He added that PRC-Sindh would soon set up mobile health units, install more water purification plants and distribute cash grants for food to flood-affected families. Chairman PRC-Sindh urged everyone to donate medicines because thousands of people in each area are getting sick, and without the necessary medicines, doctors cannot treat them. If you can’t buy the medicines due to a lack of proper information, donate money to the Pakistan Red Crescent to purchase medicines.
