Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the passing of Ali Zia, a former first-class cricketer and ex-Senior General Manager at the National Cricket Academy. Zia, who was 66, left a lasting impact on Pakistan cricket both as a player and an administrator.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Ali Zia had a distinguished career in first-class cricket, scoring 8,579 runs and taking 241 wickets over 165 matches. His post-retirement contributions were equally significant, as he served as the manager of the Pakistan U19 teams and held various positions at the National Cricket Academy, positively influencing the development of cricket in Pakistan.
The PCB expressed its deep sorrow over Zia’s demise and extended its heartfelt condolences to his family. The board acknowledged the significant contributions of Ali Zia to Pakistan cricket and remembered him for his dedication and service to the sport.
