Spectators create a different environment altogether in the ground says Misbah-ul-Haq

Derby, June 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan men’s national cricket team head coach is looking forward to see spectators at the ground as their presence always motivates the players in the field.

“We came here last year too, but when there are spectators at the ground, the atmosphere becomes different altogether and I can feel that.

“I am not sure whether we can go out or meet friends here but we are being in the quarantine for the last seven days which were tough days but we will start practice tomorrow.

“As a head coach, I would prefer to be in the lockdown, as it keep us together as a team, no matter we are in a team room, meal room or at the ground.

“Last year when we came here, we were cut off from our families but the whole team became a family.

“England is always an important tour for us especially with the T20 World Cup just a few months away. We know England is a force in white-ball format so it is a big opportunity for us to play against them.”

Head coach is hopeful that seven-day practice in Derby will be very helpful for the players to regain their form.

“We must understand that form is not permanent so we will try to utilise this isolation time to bring back their (players) form.

“We are looking forward to a competitive cricket against the host nation. The good thing is that our bench strength is strong enough to counter any team in any conditions.

PPP will not tolerate a puppet Prime Minister in Azad Kashmir

Kotli, June 27, 2021 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during the campaign of Kashmir elections reached Hajeera on the third day. Addressing a corner meeting Chairman PPP said that the puppet Prime Minister Imran Khan had vowed to become Ambassador of Kashmir instead he has become the advocate of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadav. It is very sad that our Speaker Kashmir Assembly Ghulam Sadiq is not with us anymore but his son is our candidate and continuing his father’s mission. The PPP’s relation with the Kashmiris goes back three generations.

Chairman PPP said that the people of Occupied Kashmir are facing tyranny of Modi and fighting the Hindutwa philosophy whereas the people of Azad Kashmir are facing the economic tyranny of Imran Khan. The people are facing poverty, inflation and unemployment of Imran Khan’s government. We have to send a message to Banigala and Islamabad that the people of Kashmir will decide for Kashmir. Now Kashmiris will not take dictation from the puppet Prime Minister. The PPP’s stance has always been that the future of Kashmir will be decided by the Kashmiris. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given us a slogan “hamara naara sub se bhari, rai shumari, rai shumari”.

The PPP initiated parliamentary system in Kashmir so that the people can decide for themselves through their elected representatives. The problem now is that a selected puppet in taking decisions for Kashmir. This puppet had promised to become the Ambassador of Kashmir instead he has become an advocate for Kulbhushan Jhadav. He is trying to give NRO to Kulbhushan Jhadav. He issued an Ordinance for Kulbhushan Jhadav in the darkness of the night. When Jhadav refused to use your NRO then the puppet was forced to bring the issue in the Parliament but the PPP will not become a partner in your crime of giving NRO to Jhadav.

These are the Kashmiri people who have been taught that we will fight for thousand years and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who accept that Pakistanis will shed their blood where Kashmiris shed their sweat. When Occupied Kashmir is attacked the puppet Prime Minister says on the floor of the Assembly that “What can I do?” He had promised to stand on the roads on every Friday for Kashmiris but he did not fulfill his promise. He altered the map with his own pen and this was his response to the historic attack on Occupied Kashmir. We will never compromise on Kashmir.

Imran Khan can remain silent over Kashmir but we cannot. Inshallah, there will be PPP’s Prime Minister in Kashmir as well as in Pakistan. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave nuclear technology to Pakistan and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto gave missile technology and Imran Khan is now saying that he does not need them. If you declared Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir a security risk then what should be called this puppet and cowered who has compromise on Kashmir and giving NRO to Jhadav. Now, Imran Khan is after our nuclear capability.

This puppet has become a security risk. On 25th July, the Kashmiris will send a message to the entire world that they have been rejected this puppet. The Kashmiri will side with PPP. Kashmiri people have decided that they will decide their future. The poor people of Pakistan and Kashmir are suffering due to failed economic policy of Imran Khan. During PPP’s government there was a recession in entire world but he did not leave the poor people and introduced BISP. We increased salaries, pensions and salaries of brave soldiers who are putting their lives to protect Pakistan.

We were also facing terrorism and India so we decided that we will increase 175% salaries of our soldiers. You ask police, teachers, professors and every government employee that how much increased they got their salaries since the PPP’s government completed its terms. When you will elect a Jiyala Prime Minister the first thing he will do will increase the salaries and pensions. I trust you and you will win the elections with huge margin. If they have government resources then I have the Jiyalas of the PPP and the followers of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Addressing a huge crowd in Sehnsa, Chairman PPP said that you had sided with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and wrote a history. You sided with Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and she was elected the first woman Prime Minister of the Islamic world. The entire world knows that Modi’s government is a tyranny government and in this situation puppet Prime Minister has left the people of Occupied Kashmir on the mercy of fascist Modi. We will not let this puppet to compromise on Kashmir issue.

The budget presented in the National Assembly of Pakistan is against Kashmiri people because the selected government wants to impose taxes on your energy projects. Only the government of Kashmir can impose taxes and no one else. If we have to save people from the Tsunami of inflation of Imran Khan then we have to elect PPP’s candidates. We want to take the manifesto of PPP to every household we will protect your rights and also support the people of Occupied Kashmir.

Chairman PPP has said the PPP the only party which does not compromise Modi. Our leadership has never met Modi and never shook hands with him. Modi is our enemy exactly the same way as these your enemy. We do not invite him for celebration to our house. In the last elections, I had raised slogan against Modi’s yar so people had said that how can I raise this slogan when the PPP is a peaceful political party. Now, Imran Khan and PML (N) both admit that Modi is fascist. If they had listen to me at that time we would have not been facing this difficult situation. Quaid-e-Awam had said that he cannot commit a mistake about Kashmir in his sleep but whenever this puppet opens his mouth he always commits mistake. He was saying that the issue of Kashmir will resolve with Modi’s win in the elections.

This puppet does not want to liberate Kashmir rather conquer Kashmir Highway because he change its name to Srinagar Highway. For this puppet the solution of Kashmir is not through hard work diplomacy or war but changing his own map with his own pen. Our country cannot afford such mistakes any more. According to the recent statement of this puppet he does not need the nuclear capability or the missile technology. We want the Prime Minister in Kashmir who is not a puppet but stands by you. We will not tolerate a puppet Prime Minister in Kashmir.

The PPP government will be in place in Kashmir on 25th July. We had celebrated Eid at the time when Occupied Kashmir was attacked and we will again celebrate to each together this year. Earlier Chairman Bilawal inaugurated Central Election Office of LA-10. He also addressed to the party workers gathered to receive him at Tatta Pani. He also paid visit to several Dirgahs and prayed for liberation of Kashmir and stability of Pakistan.

Statistical review of HBL PSL 6

Abu Dhabi, June 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):After failing to reach the play-offs in their first two years in 2018 and 2019, Multan Sultans have had a terrific turnaround in HBL Pakistan Super League’s last two editions. Since the start of the tournament in 2020, Sultans have won 13 out of 22 completed matches with a win percentage of 59.09 – the highest for any team in these two years, writes Mazher Arshad.

In 2020, Sultans topped the points table but couldn’t reach the final. This year, they won the tournament for the first time despite losing four of their first five matches in the group stage.

The result also means that the league, that is only into its sixth year, has seen five different winners – Islamabad United (2016 and 2018), Peshawar Zalmi (2017), Quetta Gladiators (2019), Karachi Kings (2020) and Multan Sultans (2021).

The Zalmi consistency

Zalmi once again ended up as the runners-up, but their consistency remained unmatched. They are the only team to reach the final of the tournament on four occasions (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021).

Zalmi are also one of the only two teams, the other being Kings, that has never been knocked out before the play-offs.

Babar Azam’s continued dominance

Pakistan captain and Kings opener Babar Azam ended the tournament as most prolific batsman for the second year in running. In 11 innings, he accumulated 554 runs, the most by anyone in one edition of the tournament.

Babar broke his own record of 473 runs set in 2020. In the process of scoring 554 runs, Babar also completed 2000 runs in HBL PSL becoming the first batsman to this milestone.

Most runs in each edition of HBL PSL

2021: Babar Azam (554)

2020: Babar Azam (473)

2019: Shane Watson (430)

2018: Luke Ronchi (435)

2017: Kamran Akmal (353)

2016: Umar Akmal (335)

Highest run-rate for any HBL PSL edition

HBL Pakistan Super League 6 witnessed an overall run-rate of 8.67, the highest for any season of the tournament.

It surpassed the 2020 edition that had seen a run-rate of 8.60. HBL PSL 6 figure of 8.67 is also the third highest for any T20 competition in the last one year with only Lanka Premier League (8.67) and the National T20 (8.93) – another Pakistan competition – ahead of it.

Most boundaries in any HBL PSL

There were 440 sixes hit during the tournament, the highest tally for any edition of the HBL PSL, whereas for the first time in the competition’s six years’ history, the number of fours (1012) exceeded 1000.

The previous record for sixes was in the 2018 edition when 415 maximums were hit, while the record for most fours was 879 in the 2019 tournament.

A new record for an emerging player

Sultans’ 22-year-old bowler Shahnawaz Dahani finished the tournament with 20 wickets at an average of 17.00. It was first time in the tournament history that a bowler from the Emerging Category ended up with 20 wickets.

The previous record was 15 wickets by Kings’ left-arm spinner Umer Khan in 2019, while the previous record by an emerging fast bowler was 12 wickets by Gladiators’ Mohammad Hasnain in 2019.

Shahnawaz tally of 20 wickets is also the third highest for any bowler in one edition of the HBL PSL. Only Faheem Ashraf (21 wickets in 2019) and Hasan Ali (25 wickets in 2019) have taken more wickets in one season.

Abundance of young bowlers

Shahnawaz wasn’t the only one who made a mark in HBL PSL 6. Of 19 players from the Emerging Category, 15 were bowlers (11 seamers and four spinners).

There were nine emerging fast bowlers on display in the tournament, Zalmi’s Amir Khan – who got injured in a pre-match warm-up session in Abu Dhabi and United Zeeshan Zameer were the only two rookie pacers who didn’t get a game.

Emerging pacers with most wickets were Shahnawaz (20), Mohammad Wasim (12), Mohammad Imran (nine), Arshad Iqbal (eight), Khurram Shahzad (seven), Ahmed Daniyal (six), Akif Javed (six), Abbas Afridi (four) and Mohammad Umar (two).

The four emerging spinners in the tournament were Aarish Ali Khan, Ahmed Safi Abdullah, Abrar Ahmed and Maaz Khan.

New national record

In their match against Zalmi, United batted like there was no tomorrow.

They racked up 247 runs in 20 overs, the highest total in T20s by any team that belongs to Pakistan, breaking Karachi Dolphins’ record of 243 runs against Lahore Whites in the National T20 Cup in 2010.

United achieved that total at the back of a 105 not out off 56 balls by Usman Khawaja, the first captain to score a 100 in the HBL PSL.

Even after scoring 247, United won by only 15 runs as Zalmi posted 232 in reply.

The overall match aggregate (479 runs) was also a new HBL PSL record breaking 427 runs in a match between United and Lahore Qalandars in Karachi in 2019.
