Lahore, December 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):Deputy National Finance Chair Democratic Party USA Tahir Javed calls on Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at Governor House. Overseas Pakistani Shahid Javed was also present on the occasion. Pak-US relations and the political situation in the region were discussed in detail during the meeting.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that the Overseas Pakistanis are playing an important role in the economic development of the country, the present government has given the right to vote to Overseas Pakistanis in recognition of their services to the country. He said that Overseas Commission is working on a priority basis to solve the problems of migrants. Overseas Pakistanis are our pride and asset who are playing their full role in the prosperity of Pakistan. Ch Parvez Elahi said that the government should take concrete steps to protect the properties of migrants in Pakistan.
Tahir Javed thanked Ch Parvez Elahi and said that Pak-US relations have a history of many decades which is getting better with the passage of time. The US government is now beginning to understand Pakistan. With the Biden administration, Pakistan is making positive progress on the diplomatic front. He said that several members of the US Congress had visited Pakistan in the last few days. Concerns about Pakistan have been removed from several anti-Pakistan bills in the US Senate. Tahir Javed said that Ch Parvez Elahi’s exemplary relations with overseas Pakistanis are valuable.
