Bahawalpur, March 25, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Directorate of office of research and Innovation and commercialization organized a one-day session on “Bridging the gap between Academia and Industry”. Prof. Dr. Zafar A. Siddiqui, Director ORIC, ISRA University, Hyderabad, highlighted the mediating role of ORIC in an academia-industry relationship. He emphasized the importance of participation of industry personnel not only in the ORIC steering committee but also in the curriculum development committees, final semester projects granting and evaluation fora and other allied activities as well.
Faculty members from various faculties including, Faculty of Computing, Management Sciences, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences and IBBB participated in the session. In the closing remarks, Director ORIC, IUB, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif appreciated the active participation of the audience. He confesses that the research publication aspect of the university is getting stronger, however, the shifting of momentum towards innovation and commercialization is the need of the hour to contribute in the economy. He, further, ensured the support of ORIC to create a strong nexus between academia and industry in the days down the lane to emancipate a new era for research, innovation and commercialization.
