Rawalpindi, The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) hosted a prestigious Certificate Award Ceremony at its PWD campus, acknowledging the accomplishments of its faculty and young officers. The event, held on Tuesday, 07 November 2023, recognized the successful completion of various training programs conducted by the university.

According to National University of Medical Sciences, the ceremony celebrated the achievements of 70 faculty members from various NUMS departments, including Public Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, and Biological Sciences. These faculty members were trained in “Curriculum Planning and Implementation” during a series of workshops spanning from 05 July 2023 to 09 August 2023.

In a parallel initiative, NUMS’ six-month Certified University Management Training Program (UMTP Batch-II), which ran from August 2021 to January 2022, also received spotlight during the ceremony. This program, aimed at inducting and nurturing young talent at NUMS, initially inducted 27 candidates as UMT Officers (UMTOs). Out of these, 13 officers effectively completed the intensive two-year program, which included both academic and on-the-job training phases.

The event, organized by the NUMS Center for Lifelong Learning (NCL), was honoured by the presence of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics) Maj Gen Farrukh Saeed, HI (M), (Retd) as the Chief Guest. Maj Gen Farrukh Saeed expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the NUMS Department of Health Professions Education (NDHPE) and the NCL Team in organizing such vital developmental programs. He also commended the young officers who completed their training, acknowledging them as the promising future of NUMS.

The ceremony also included the presentation of certificates to the NDHPE Facilitators and NCL Organizers, recognizing their contributions to the successful execution of these programs. The chief guest distributed Training Completion Certificates to the 12 successful UMTP officers, marking a significant milestone in their professional journey at NUMS.

This event highlights NUMS’ commitment to fostering professional development and excellence within its faculty and administrative staff, significantly contributing to the institution’s growth and success in the field of medical sciences.
